National Engineering College was brought into existence in the year 1984 by Mr. K. Ramasamy Reddiar in Kovilpatti, Tamil Nadu. The institute wad granted autonomous status in the year 2011 and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The institute is a self-financing institute.

The college is autonomous college the overall activities and the facilities are too good, academics wise even now they top also they given equal attention to sports, cultural and other academic as well non-academic events. National Engineering College Kovilpatti of B.Tech is average not so high it is around INR 2 lakhs also once the fee is paid there is no tension in paying extra fees. National Engineering College admission will be done based on TNEA counselling there is no entrance exam students with merit in academics will be allotted with seats. National Engineering College placement cell since the beginning of the college supports and offer opportunities to students by training and providing guidance for getting placed in top companies.

NEC Kovilpatti CSE fee structure is approx INR 50,000 to INR 70,000 per annum. Additionally, students are required to pay Exam fees, Library fees and other miscellaneous charges, which are approx INR 10,000 to 15,000.
