MKP PG College Dehradun was founded in 1902 and is affiliated with HNB Garhwal University. The Kanya Pathshala Trust and Society is in charge of managing the college. Smt. Mahadevi, the wife of a prominent lawyer in Dehradun, started tutoring six young girls at her home

in 1902. It was a brave and daring move made by a lady with vision who saw that India couldn't compete with other countries without educating its women.

Mahadeviji's husband, Shri Jyoti Swaroop, gave her unwavering support and helped her establish the Kanya Pathshala Trust and Society. As a result, certain acres of land were donated to the school by Shri Jyoti Swaroopji in 1911, and as a result, courses were held on the campus, which is now the MKP Intermediate College. The college's major goals are to teach girls from all social strata values-based education, empower women by teaching them how to be entrepreneurs, and provide contemporary liberal arts education.

The Pathshala was one of the earliest educational institutions in India to offer instruction along Arya Samaj's beliefs and cultural lines while being operated nearly entirely by women. Smt. Mahadevi served as the school's superintendent in addition to teaching until her passing in 1914. After that, the college had competent headmistresses who saw its growth.
