Gandhinagar Engineering College Gandhinagar was founded in 2004. It is a public co-educational institute. The campus encompasses 26 acres of land. AICTE and Institute of Engineers recognize GECG. The college is administrated by DTE, Gujarat Government, and is affiliated with GTU. Initially, all the GEC Gandhinagar Courses were taught according to the GTU Syllabus, but from 2013 onwards, the college was awarded autonomous status. However, Results and Certificates are still provided by GTU. The college's objective is to expand information and teach students in engineering, and its vision is to provide an excellent education for creative solutions relevant to the environment and society. GECG offers admission to the B Tech at the UG level and M Tech at the PG level. The college strives to educate its learners in a manner that allows them to not only thrive academically but also to be fully aware of their development of industrial demands for professional knowledge through a creative and adaptable curriculum. GECG comprises highly dedicated faculty members who are specialists in their respective professions. Their professional skills and industry connections assist students in becoming qualified engineers who will serve society and the economy in the long term.

Students who wish to apply for the courses must fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements. GEC Gandhinagar Admission to the UG and PG programs will be based on an entrance examination accompanied by a counseling procedure. BE/B Tech has a total intake of 120 seats for every branch, whereas ME/M Tech has a total intake of 36. Admission to BE/B Tech will be based on the candidate's 10+2 exam results and a valid rank in the JEE Main and GUJCET Entrance Exam. In addition, students must satisfy the Cut off criterion. The cutoff scores will vary for each category and branch.

ME/M Tech admissions will depend on the PGCET results conducted by the state government of Gujarat. Those with valid scores in GUJCET are not required to take the exam. However, candidates must have a bachelor's degree minimum of a 5.0 GPA. Final admission will be granted following seat allocation and document verification. Gandhinagar Government College fees for B Tech is INR 18k. For M Tech admission, students are required to pay INR 9k.

At GECG, Students can apply for scholarships such as the Pragati Grant for Female Students (Technical Degrees), Saksham Scholarships Scheme for Differently - abled Students (Advanced Level), AICTE- Swanath Grant Scheme (Advanced Degree), and MYSY Scholarship. Scholarships will be given solely to those who meet the eligibility requirements.

On GECG Campus, a hostel facility is available for girls and boys with all required amenities. Hostels include double and triple shared rooms and a canteen that serves meals at a low cost. The GEC Gandhinagar Hostel Fee is roughly INR 4k. In the boy's hostel, a total of 282 students can accommodate. On the other hand, 180 students can stay in the girl's hostel. In addition, a GEC Gandhinagar Alumni association assists the Institute's students in curricular activities.

In the academic year 2018-19, more than 48 well-known companies engaged in campus recruiting. The students successfully placed in engineering, information and technology, sales, education, corporate development, quality control, arts and design, and many more renowned sectors. There is a dedicated GEC Gandhinagar Placement cell, which provides 100% placement assistance.

In the recent drive, The highest pay package was INR 6 LPA, and 182 students were employed with reputable firms. On the other hand, the GEC Gandhinagar Average Package was 2.5 LPA.
