South Calcutta Law College is government aided college which was established in the year 1970. The college is approved by Bar Council of Indian and is affiliated to University of Calcutta. This institute is ranked 34^th among the Law Colleges of India by India Today ranked 2019. This institute is operated by imparting education in field of legal studies. Basically, the admission for courses will be entrance exam based and application mode will be offline.

• South Calcutta Law College admissions to the courses are made based on the aggregate marks obtained by candidates in entrance test conducted by the University of Calcutta. The one seeking admission will have to register in the Calcutta University portal.
• Applicants will have to register by filling the application form with all the necessary personal and academics information and as next step; candidates will have to fill the preference option in the preference form.
• Admission to BA-LLB and BA-LLB (Hons) course will be offered based on their minimum eligibility and selection criteria will be made entrance exam based.
• For taking admission in BA-LLB one must have passed 10+2 cleared with minimum 45% marks in aggregate from any recognized board.
• Selection process for BA-LLB course will be done by the South Calcutta Law College admission committee. In accordance to the guidelines, one must have valid scores in entrance exam conducted by Calcutta University.
• The South Calcutta Law College application fee in SCLC, Kolkata will be Rs. 500 for general candidates and Rs. 250 for reserved category students. The application fee must be collected through SBI challan or credit card or debit card.
• The students wanting to take admission to BA-LLB (Hons) should have obtained LLB (part 1) and must have passed in higher secondary examination. Selection process to the BA-LLB course will be based on the entrance examination.
