NIET Hyderabad B Tech Admission

The minimum eligibility requirement is 10+2/HSC, with above 45% marks in the science stream. In many technical institutions in Hyderabad, including NEIT, seats are often categorized into "Category A" and "Category B" for admission purposes.

These categories typically refer to different methods of admission and eligibility criteria:

Category A Seats:

  • Category A seats are usually filled through a TS EAMCET. Out of 100%, 70% of intake is through EAMCET Counselling.
  • Category A seats are open to candidates who qualify for the entrance examination based on their exam scores and rank. Merit plays a significant role in the allocation of Category A seats.
  • The tuition fees for Category A seats are often lower, as the government subsidizes them to some extent.
  • Candidates must fulfil the cutoff requirements to be eligible under the Convenor Quota.

Category B Seats:

  • Category B seats are often filled through Netaji Institute of Engineering and Technology Management quota. These seats are not allocated based on entrance exam scores or merit but through other criteria. 30% of seats are kept under this quota.
  • Candidates who may not have qualified for Category A seats or wish to secure admission without high entrance exam scores can apply for Category B seats.
  • These seats are often available at a higher tuition fee, as they are not subsidized to the same extent as Category A seats. Management quota seats, in particular, can be more expensive.
