MAKUAT was formerly known as West Bengal University. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of technology ranking nirf was 101-158. Approved by the UGC and AICTE, candidates for BTech are required to have a 45% aggregate in Class 12. Selection is based on WBJEE ranks, and for lateral entry, candidates need to pass WB-JELET. The MAKAUT cutoff for BTech in Computer Science Engineering is 3467 rank. MAKAUT admission form is available on the official website.

In order to enrol in the B.Tech programs at MAKAUT, applicants should have qualified through 10+2 in Physics, Mathematics, and an additional subject, such as Chemistry or Computer Science, with a minimum of 45%. Admission to B. Tech programs is primarily based on the WBJEE 2025. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will need to register for the WBJEE, sit for the examination, and participate in the counseling process. Seat allocation to B.Tech is based on WBJEE rank and availability of seats during counseling.

For BCA admission at MAKAUT, candidates are required to appear for the CET examination conducted by the university, and the annual capacity of students is 30.

Students looking for B-Tech admissions at MAKAUT must have passed the 10+2 board exams. Selections will be based on WBJEE scores and counseling results. The admissions are based on an entrance exam basis.
