Government Law College is shortly called has GLC and is also considered as one of the most ancient and oldest college of legal studies located in Tamil Nadu. This college is been affiliated by the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. The admission process in this college for the courses offered would be as per the TNDALU and basically it would be done according to the merit.

  • Government Law college offers admission to the courses such as three years LLB and five years BA-LLB as undergraduate courses. The post graduate courses are the LLM which is Master of Law in a specialization called as Property Law.
  • Mostly, the selection of the candidates to the courses will be made according to the merit obtained by candidates in the previous year qualifying examination and as per the norms laid by the TADALU. 
  • In Government Law college admission committee will allot seats on the basis of merit-cum-choice. All the selected students will be called for counseling mandatorily.
  • The basic eligibility criteria for taking GLC admission into BALLB would be passing in 10+2 or intermediate examination with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. The eligibility criteria needed for LLB would be 10+2+3 from any of the Universities of Tamil Nadu.
  • For PG course, LLM the basic qualification needed would be LLB degree passed with at least 45% marks in aggregate. The admission in GLC for this course also will be done based on the merit in previous qualifying examination.
  • Government Law college application process and the admission process both are conducted online for the benefits of students and convenience. The application form will be issued by the TNDALU through offline mode which means the form must be downloaded or collected at the college.
  • The duly filled application form and the application fee must be sent through the post. There will also be certain GLC, Tirunlveli application fee to be paid along with the filled application form.

To gain admission to the BA LLB at Government Law College Madurai, a student must apply via the TNDALU website. The application procedure will often commence during the months of April and May. Once all applications are collected, students will be accepted into the BA LLB program based on the academic merit via TNDALU Counselling. In accordance with seat availability, TNDALU will generate a variety of merit lists. All applicants must complete the online registration process and provide any documentation required before being accepted into the BA LLB program.

If you want to study the BA LLB course at Government Law College, Tirunelveli, then you have to pass the 12th Standard (Higher Secondary) with at least 45% (40% for SC/ST). As the college is affiliated with  Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU), you need to apply online through the TNDALU official website when the application window opens. There will be no entrance exam, and admissions will be based on your 12th-grade Marks. If you are shortlisted, you will be called for online counselling.

Government Law College, Tirunelveli: Admission is done through the Tamil Nadu Law Admission (TNDALU) counselling process. Candidates for the 5-year integrated law course should have passed Class 12, while candidates for the 3-year LLB course should have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution. Admission will be on a merit basis, and there will be no entrance exam. However, all interested candidates must submit the application form on the TNDALU website and complete the online process. After a candidate's document verification is complete, they will be considered for seat allotment during the counselling process.

Admission to the three-year LLB at Government Law College, Tirunelveli, is expected to commence from the 1st week of July. The last date to submit the application form is expected to be in August 2025. Admissions are granted through Counselling administered by TNDALU. There is no entrance exam. Interested applicants can register on the TNDALU website and submit the score cards of the 12th and graduation. Then participate in Online Counselling for Seat allotment. Once the seat allotment is completed, report to the college for document verification.
