Government Law College is shortly called GLC and is considered as one of the most ancient and oldest college of legal studies located in Tamil Nadu. This college is affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. The admission process in this college for the courses offered would be as per the TNDALU, and basically it would be done according to merit.

  • Government Law College offers admission to courses such as three-year LLB and five years BA-LLB as undergraduate courses. The postgraduate courses are the LLM, which is the Master of Laws in a specialization called Property Law.
  • Mostly, the selection of the candidates to the courses will be made according to the merit obtained by candidates in the previous year's qualifying examination and as per the norms laid by the TADALU.
  • In the Government Law college admission committee will allot seats on the basis of merit-cum-choice. All the selected students will be called for counseling mandatorily.
  • The basic eligibility criteria for taking GLC admission into BALLB would be passing the 10+2 or intermediate examination with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. The eligibility criteria needed for LLB would be 10+2+3 from any of the Universities of Tamil Nadu.
  • For the PG course, LLM, the basic qualification needed would be an LLB degree passed with at least 45% marks in aggregate. The admission in GLC for this course also will also be done based on merit in the previous qualifying examination.
  • The Government Law college application process and the admission process both are both conducted online for the benefits of students and convenience. The application form will be issued by the TNDALU through offline mode, which means the form must be downloaded or collected at the college.
  • The duly filled application form and the application fee must be sent through the post. There will also be a certain GLC, Tirunlveli application fee to be paid along with the filled application form.

To gain admission to the BA LLB at Government Law College Madurai, a student must apply via the TNDALU website. The application procedure will often commence during the months of April and May. Once all applications are collected, students will be accepted into the BA LLB program based on the academic merit via TNDALU Counselling. In accordance with seat availability, TNDALU will generate a variety of merit lists. All applicants must complete the online registration process and provide any documentation required before being accepted into the BA LLB program.
