The Gandhi Institute for Education and Technology (GIET) was established in 2009 by the Gandhi Group of Institutions, formed by Dr. SP Panda. And is the largest educational and technological group in eastern India. The institute has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in New Delhi and is affiliated with the BPUT in Rourkela. NAAC accredits GIET with a 'A’+ Grade. In India Today 2020 Rankings, GIET has been ranked 157 for B Tech Category among Top Engineering Colleges. GIET currently offers B Tech at the UG level and M Tech at the PG level. Besides, it also provides admission to the Diploma courses in engineering streams.

JEE and OJEE are used to admit students to B.Tech and B.Tech (Lateral) programmes. To get into M.Tech, candidates must take either the GATE Candidates seeking admission to the Diploma programme must take the State Government's DET.

For admission to the B Tech at GIET, students must meet the institute's eligibility requirements and score as per the cut off requirements.

  • Candidates must clear 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in the science stream. In the case of SC/ST, they will have 5% of relaxation in aggregate score.
  • In addition, candidates must clear either state or national level entrance exam, that is, JEE Main or OJEE Main entrance exam and must score a valid score.

Gandhi Institute for Education and Technology M.Tech Admission

Candidates for the M.Tech degree program at GIET's must first meet all of the institute's qualifying standards before being admitted.

  • Candidates interested in pursuing a Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree must sit the GATE Entrance Exam and perform well to be eligible for admission.
  • Candidates must, however, have a graduate degree in a relevant field to meet the qualifying requirements. In addition, the minimum qualifying marks must be above 50% at the UG level.
