MDI Gurgaon Admissions: Eligibility Criteria

Admission to MDI Gurgaon's flagship PGDM programs is primarily based on interest exams such as CAT. Shortlisted students are then invited for a personal interview round as part of the last selection process. To be eligible for admission to any PG program, candidates have to hold a bachelor's degree from any recognized University.

Here is an overview of the PGDM courses offered at MDI Gurgaon, along with their eligibility and selection criteria.

  • A Bachelor's degree from a recognized University with at least 50% overall marks is required.
  • The selection process is based on CAT or GMAT scores, followed by GD and PI.

Step 1: Take the CAT Exam

The journey to get admitted at MDI Gurgaon starts with appearing for the CAT exam. This national-level entrance exam is a mandatory requirement for all candidates who are seeking admission into the institute's PGDM program. MDI Gurgaon checks candidates based on their C 80 percentile score, which plays an important role in the shortlisting process for further rounds of the selection process. Each program at MDI can have a different CAT cut-off, and candidates have to meet this cut-off to be considered for the next stages. The official cut-off is typically announced after the declaration of CAT results.

Step 2: Submit the MDI Gurgaon Application Form

Once a candidate has appeared for the CAT, the next important step is to apply separately to MDI Gurgaon through its official admission portal. Filling out the application form is mandatory, even after clearing a valid CAT score. Candidates have to ensure they complete and submit the form within the deadline. MDI Gurgaon application fee is Rs. 1000.

Step 3: Group Discussion, Written Ability Test, and Personal Interview (GD-WAT-PI)

Can you tell me the minimum CA percentile will be invited to participate in the next stages of the selection process. This includes a Group Discussion (GD), Written Ability Test (WAT), and Personal Interview (PI). These assessment rounds are designed to check a candidate's overall personality, communication skills, presence of mind, and leadership qualities.

During the Group Discussion, candidates are checked on how effectively they present, their ability to collaborate in a team, and their listening skills. The Written Ability Test tests a candidate's clarity of thought, grammar, structure, and coherence of ideas in a short written response. Finally, the Personal Interview will check deeper into the candidate's motivation, achievements, professional goals, academic background, and general awareness. Evaluation rounds play an important role in the selection process and account for 30% of the overall admission criteria.

Step 4: Final Selection Based on Comprehensive Evaluation

After the completion of the GD – WAT – PI rounds, credits are shortlisted for final admission based on multiple factors. MDI will follow a holistic selection approach that not only considers the CA percentile but also places considerable focus on the candidate's performance in GD/PI/WAT, academic history, work experience, and overall profile. The college aims to bring in candidates who are not only academically fit but also have leadership potential, intellectual curiosity, and a well-rounded personality.
