Gear up CLAT aspirants, registrations for one of the most awaited exams are going to commence very soon!

As per the official website of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), the application process for 2023 will start on August 8. The statement on the website reads, "Applications for CLAT 2023 open Monday, August 8, 2022, ". Candidates can apply for the exam through the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in. CLAT 2023 is scheduled to be held on December 18, 2022, and all the students who have cleared Class 12 are eligible to appear for the exam. Those students who are going to sit in the upcoming board exams 2023 can also apply for CLAT 2023. However, they must have scored at least 45% in class 12 or its equivalent grades to be eligible for the application. For SC and ST candidates, the required percentage is not less than 40%.

CLAT is a national-level entrance exam and is conducted by the Consortium of NLUs for admissions to 22 National Law Universities (NLU) in India. Renowned PSUs like ONGC, BHEL, Coal India, and some self-financed law institutes use CLAT certifications for various legal positions in their respective organizations. Candidates can take this exam after clearing Class 12 and given its acceptance rate of 3 percent, CLAT is one of the toughest entrance exams in India. Indian nationals and NRIs are eligible to appear in the exam and NLUs release the criteria for admission regarding minimum educational qualification, minimum marks, and age limit on their official website. CLAT provides undergraduate as well as post-graduate courses to various law schools. For undergraduate courses, a candidate needs a Class 12 certificate from a recognized board with at least 45% marks in aggregate, and for the post-graduate courses, a candidate needs LL. B/B. L. Degree or any equivalent degree from a recognized University with not less than 50% marks in aggregate.

Students who are appearing for CLAT 2023 exam, will get admission to the NLUs for 5-year LLB and LLM programs for the academic year 2023-24 based on their CLAT scores. 1. Visit the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in

2. On the home page, you will find the registration link. Click on the link and enter your mobile number and password

3. Now, log in to the website using your credentials

4. You will find the application form. Fill all the necessary details in the application form

5. You will be asked to upload some documents like the Class 12 certificate, upload them and pay the required application fees using a credit card, debit card, or net banking

6. Once you are done with all the information, click on the submit button

7. Download the application form and take a printout in case it's further needed

The pattern of the exam is not changed much from CLAT 2022. The question paper for CLAT 2023 will have 150 objective-type questions that will be divided into five sections. The sections are the English language, Current affairs including General knowledge, Logical reasoning, Legal reasoning, and Quantitative techniques. The marking scheme for CLAT 2023 will be as follows:

For every correct answer, the candidate will get one mark

For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from the total score

No marks are awarded for the questions left unanswered

There will be passage-based questions in all the sections, except the quantitative techniques and the sections will include 450-words passages. Each passage will have a separate series of questions from the passage. The Quantitative section will have short sets of facts, propositions, graphs, pictorial representations, etc and most of the questions asked in this section will have a difficulty level of Class 12.
