CLAT 2021 Last Date for Registration

According to the recent update, NLUs (Consortium of National Law Universities) has released the official notice about extending the last date for CLAT 2021. Eligible candidates can fill the CLAT 2021 application form by 31st April 2021. Previously, the application process was about to conclude by 31st March 2021. Now the examination authority has given extra time of one month to submit the form.

CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is a National-Level Entrance Exam conducted to provide admission to the law programs offered by 22 NLUs in India. Besides NLUs, many private and self-financed law institutes consider CLAT scores for granting access to law students.

To fill up the CLAT 2021 application form, applicants will have to access the official website (@ consortiumofnlus.ac.in) and only apply it through online mode. Applicants should ensure the CLAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria before proceeding to register.

CLAT will be conducted for both UG & PG courses. For CLAT UG, applicants shall have possessed 12th with a minimum of 45% eligibility. To appear for CLAT PG, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree LLB or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

As per the revised examination schedule, Consortium will conduct CLAT 2021 on 13th June 2021 in the afternoon session  (2 PM to 4 PM). Earlier, CLAT was scheduled for 4th May 2021, but due to CBSE Board Exam Dates' Clashes, it got postponed.

Once the CLAT 2021 application process concludes, registered candidates can access the CLAT 2021 Admit Card online by using their login credentials. NLU has not announced the official dates for admit card availability. However, admit card will be issued 15 days before the exam date. Expecting that, Admit Card will be available from the 1st week of May.

The CLAT UG 2021 UG Exam Pattern comprises 200 objective types of questions that need to be solved in 2 hours of time duration. Each question carries one mark, and there will be a negative marking for each wrong answer, i.e., 0.25.

The CLAT PG 2021 Exam Pattern Comprises two sections. In section-1, there will be 100 MCQ questions for 100 Marks, and section-2 comprises a descriptive type of question which carries 50 marks.

To be noted, candidates who secure above 40% in section-1 will be eligible for section-2 correction. Candidates belonging to the reserved category SC/ST/PWD will be having 5% of relaxation. Hence, they can secure a minimum of 35%.

How to apply for CLAT 2021

Step 1: Kindly, Visit the authorized web portal of the Consortium of NLU's (@consortiumofnlus.ac.in)

Step 2: Register yourself by entering the details such as valid Email ID and Mobile Number.OTP will generate for validation purposes.

Step 3: If the phone number gets validated, you will be able to login by using the credentials ( Phone Number and Created Password)

Step 4: Upon successful login, an application form will display on the screen. You must enter all the necessary details carefully and review them once before clicking on submit option.

Step 5: Among 22 National Law Universities, choose the preferences according to your convenience.

Step 6: Then, proceed to pay the CLAT 2021 application fees through the online payment portal.

Application fees for General /PWD/ OBC/ NRI/OCI/PIO cost approximately INR 4000. Candidates belonging to SC/BPL/ST should pay around INR 3,500.

Step 7: After the successful transaction, Upload all the required documents as per the guidelines specified by NLU.

Step 8: At last, you must save the copy of the application form, and it is necessary to take the printout of it. Candidates should preserve the application form till the admission process concludes.
