CAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria before filling up the CAT 2025 application form.

  • You must hold a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a UGC recognized institution.
  • You must have a minimum of 50% marks (or 45% for SC/ST/PwD) in your Bachelor's degree.
  • Students appearing for their final year graduation may also apply for CAT 2025.
  • There is no age limit to appear for the CAT exam.
  • There is no restriction on the number of times you can appear for the CAT.
  • Your qualification must be from the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 educational system.

 

How to apply for CAT 2025

Check out the following steps in order to complete the CAT 2025 Registration Process:

If you wish to appear for the exam, you need to complete the CAT 2025 online registration on the official IIM CAT website. Follow the steps below so that you can fill out the CAT 2025 application form without fear of confusion.

  • Step 1: Visit the official Site: Once the registration process begins, access the official CAT website.
  • Step 2: Register as a New Candidate: Click on 'New Candidate Registration', then fill in the following: your name, date of birth, email ID, and mobile number. You will be sent an OTP after your registration is successful. You will get your User ID and Password.
  • Step 3: Filling the Application Form: Log in with your User ID and Password. The application has personal details, academic qualifications, work experience, and preferences for test cities (maximum six).
  • Upload Documents: After completing the form, you are mandated to upload the scanned images of important documents along with your Photo & Signature. All of your documents must be updated clearly within a precise format. Otherwise, you will face application rejection.
  • Make the payment of the CAT 2025 application fees: After uploading the documents, make the payment of the CAT 2025 Registration fees. It costs INR 2,500 for General Category applicants. Whereas, reserved category applicants must pay INR 1,250.
  • Submit and Save: Once the payment is successful, you can click on "Submit" and download a copy of the same. Keep it for future reference.

 

CAT 2025 Exam Pattern

The CAT 2025 exam will be conducted in online mode and will have three sections (VARC, DILR, and QA). The exam consists of a total of 120 minutes, with each section comprising 40 minutes. You cannot switch between the sections during the exam. You are mandated to complete 1 section, and then proceed with the others.

There will be approximately 66 to 70 questions. CAT Question Paper 2025 comprises MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) and TITA (Type In The Answer) type questions. For MCQs, you will get a +3 score for each correct answer, and a -1 score for each incorrect answer. There is no negative score for TITA-type questions. In addition to the exam pattern, candidates must review the CAT 2025 Syllabus too.

1. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)

In this section, your English language and verbal ability will be tested.
