Annamalai University Directorate of Distance Education is one of the few Indian Universities/institutes that have all the faculties under its one roof. The University was begun in the year 1979 and currently it is offering 500+ courses under Distance learning at Diploma, UG and PG level also includes certificate programs. The admission to the Distance Education in the University is done through merit in the qualifying exams.

  • The University offers Distance UG courses such as BA, B.Sc., BBA, B.Com, B.Ed., BBL, BAL, BGL and B.L.I.Sc.
  • Postgraduate courses offered by AU DDE are MBA, M.Sc., PGD, LLM and MCA.

Annamalai University Directorate of Distance Education Eligibility Criteria:

Annamalai University has set an eligibility criterion for admission to all the distance courses offered here. The eligibility criteria for all courses are mentioned in the following.

  • The candidate must have eligibility of 10+2 with 50% marks in any discipline for admission to BA, BBA, B.Ed., BBL, BAL, BGL and B.L.I.Sc.
  • B.Sc. course requires 10+2 with relevant subjects with at least 50% marks from a recognized board.
  • 10+2 in commerce stream is required for admission to B.Com and BBA in Computer Applications.
  • Admission to MBA course obliges eligibility of BBA or Graduation in any stream with at least 50% marks.
  • M.Sc. course admission required basic education of B.Sc. in relevant specializations and for M.Sc. Information Technology requires B.Sc. in IT or BCA pass.
  • PGD in Library Science requires any graduation with 50% aggregate marks and PGD in Computer application requires any graduation with 50% marks or BCA.
  • LLM course minimum eligibility is LLB.
  • Basic eligibility for MCA course is BCA with at least 50% marks.
  • The minimum eligibility for PGD in Acupuncture, Tobacco control and Public Health is any graduation and for PGD in Applied Nutrition, Wellness and Fitness Science & Medical Records Science is B.Sc. in applicable stream with minimum of 50% marks.

Annamalai University Directorate of Distance Education Admission Procedure:

The candidates applying for admission to Distance UG courses in Annamalai University Directorate of Distance Education will be selected based on the merit in their qualifying exam. There is no requirement of any entrance exam in order to get admission to the University. The candidates will be selected for final admission to Distance PG courses in Annamalai University DDE after the counseling session conducted by the University.

  • The candidates can apply for admission through two ways via admission through post and spot admission process.
  • The application form is available in the University website which has to be downloaded and taken a print out.
  • Spot admission is carried for the candidates residing near the study centres and the application form and documents required can be submitted there.
  • Candidates applying for admission through post can submit the filled application form along with all the necessary documents to the University.
  • The candidates applying through the post will be allotted with a provisional admission card and the final admission will be confirmed only after original certificates verification.
