Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham: To launch Six degree online programs

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Institute is launching six of its exclusive degree programs as online courses in computer applications and management programs. These programs have got their grants from UGC for providing online degrees with the regulations issued in 2020, and this is allowed by any of the top institutions that come under NIRF. All six courses are full-fledged programs, and after the completion of the degree course, all the students will get a verified certification from the institute, which has an equal weightage of their offline course.

More about online degrees

The online degree programs offered by AVV are clubbed under the brand "Amrita AHEAD" and are equivalent to the degree that of the university's on-campus degree programs.

The Amrita University vice-chancellor, Mr. P. Venkat Rangan, said that "The Amrita AHEAD" online courses will help solve many of the students' problems willing to do higher education in different cities or boards by offering higher education. As the study is conducted online, students can access the lessons in their comfort zones from any part of the country or even in foreign countries. This institute resolves that online courses are less effective in both learning and validation contexts as it gives equal weightage for both on-campus and online classes. They also provide good placement opportunities once the online degree course is completed.

The degree programs that Amrita University Online offers are- BCA, BBA, MBA, and MCA. There are two specializations in the MCA program, i.e., MCA in Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence. All these programs are provided with a full-fledged syllabus as of any on-campus course.

The institution follows all those rules and regulations issued by 2020 due to the pandemic reason and asks many other Universities to offer such online courses. As per the latest budget, 2021 and relaxations are given out by Feb 1; there is a rough chance of 239 institutions to provide online degree programs for the newest batch of students.
