Academic Collaboration between IIT Madras and IIITDM Kancheepuram

 

The top reputed academic institutes are all set to collaborate to provide unique and advanced learning experience to the aspirants. The renowned Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram are collaborating in the sectors of academics and research.

The collaborations encompass the initiatives to admit 10% of B.Tech candidates at IIITDM Kancheepuram to seek direct admission in Ph.D and IIT Madras. Candidates are allowed to enroll after the completion of 6^th semester. The candidates are benefitted to pursue 7^th and 8^th semester at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras.

Prof Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director of IIT Madras and Prof. Banshidhar Majhi, Director of IIITDM Kancheepuram singed the MoU of collaboration on 8^th February 2019 at IIT Madras campus. The collaboration was considered to be beneficial in the long run for the deserving candidates to pursue their education.

Highlights of Collaboration:

• IIITDM Kancheepuram students can pursue their 7^th and 8^th semester if IIT Madras after fulfillment of the required criteria.
• Aspirants are provided advantages of credit based learning by adapting transfer credit and participation in competitive projects and research.
• The project and research participation without and tuition fee or admission charges is considered to be a boon to the students.
• For Ph.D pursuing aspirants, the credits will be shifted to IIITDM Kancheepuram to honor the Engineering degree.

After an active interaction between the mentors and the faculties of the institute the students will the benefitted with the opportunities to pursue their higher education with the renowned IIT Madras to excel in their career. The IIITDM Kancheepuram students can strive for the chance to attain research collaboration under the supervisions of the faculty chain of IIT Madras and build their career to the next level.
