The institution was established on 26th June 1933 as Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, and later on, in 1962, it was renamed as Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya by Hon Chief Minister Shri. Yashvantrao Chavan. The institution was established to educate the students and empower them to become successful ayurvedic medical professionals with high ethical and strong moral values. Tilak Ayurveda College offers admission to the BAMS at the UG level. The course has a timeline of 5 months and 6 months. The course is offered in the stream of Ayurvedic Science.

• The admission in the BAMS program at TAMV Pune is done through the entrance examination.
• To be eligible for applying in BAMS, candidates should have passed the HSC level examination conducted by any recognized board for senior secondary education.
• The applicants must have taken biology, chemistry, and Physics as the main subjects.
• The candidates should have secured at least 50% marks in all of the subjects calculated together.
