IISER Pune Courses and Fees

IISER Pune offers admission to the 5-year BS-MS Dual Degree Program. Besides, it offers two years of integrated MSc+ PhD and a six-year PhD. IISER Pune BS-MS Courses are available in four disciplines.

IISER Pune Course Admission

Candidates must ensure the eligibility criteria before seeking admission in IIESR Pune. Admission for the IIESR BS-MS course is based on three channels. For integrated PhD courses, admission is granted based on JAM, JEST and NBHM.

Three Channels: Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), JEE Advanced, and State and Central Boards (SCB) Channel are used for admission to BS-MS degree programmes. To register via the JEE Advanced channel, you must have a current JEE Advanced rank.

IISER Pune BS-MS Admission

• IISER offers a 5-year full-time combined bachelor's programme with 9 specializations. Admissions are made based on ability.
• To apply for the BS-MS program, candidates must have completed their 10+2 exams in the science discipline.
• Three avenues through which applicants can get admission:

KVPY Channel - Admission is given to applicants holding a current KVPY fellowship who meet the cutoff requirements for points earned in the 10+2 exam.

JEE Advanced Channel - Admission to the course is granted to applicants who received a JEE Advanced score of within 10,000 and met the cutoff for marks in the 10+2 test. The minimum score required for admission is 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) on the 10+2 test or an exam of a similar standard.

SCB Channel - Admissions through the SCB route are based on IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) performance. On August 12, 2021, the test will be administered in 34 states. For 180 minutes, IAT will be administered in a computer-based manner.

IISER Pune JEE Advanced Cutoff

The JEE Advanced overall cutoff is 3726 rank.

IISER Pune Integrated PhD (MSc+Ph.D)

• In four fields, the IISER in Pune provides MSc+Ph.D. programmes. Candidates must fit the Institute's requirements for admission. Performance in PI is used as the foundation for admissions.
• 60% overall marks (not just in the major topic) or an equivalent CGPA for General/OBC students with a Bachelor's degree or higher (55% or an equivalent CGPA for SC/ST students).
• According to the criteria mentioned below, candidates will be narrowed down. Those who make the shortlist will be chosen for admissions based on their success in the PI that IISER Pune will be conducting.

IISER Pune Chemistry PhD. - 60% cumulative points or CGPA 6 on a 10-point scale in B.Sc. (General/B.Sc. majoring in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology); (55% or equivalent CGPA in aggregate for SC/ST and PD candidates). The integrated PhD programme accepts applications from candidates in the final year of their passing degree and who have taken or are about to take their final examinations.

Mathematics - BSc in Mathematics specialization or BTech with 60% overall points or a CGPA of 6 on a 10-point scale (55% or an equivalent CGPA overall for SC/ST and PD candidates). Candidates in their final year of undergraduate study are also welcome to register.

Physics - 60% overall points or a cumulative grade point average of 6 on a scale of 10 (55% or an equivalent cumulative CGPA for SC/ST and PD candidates).

IISER PhD. Admission

• In six fields, the IISER in Pune provides doctoral programmes. Candidates must fit the Institute's requirements for admission. Performance in PI is used as the foundation for admissions.
• Candidates must have earned a bachelor's or master's degree in science or mathematics with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 60%.
• Candidates must also pass the following examinations: CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, JEST, NBHM, and JGEEBILS.
• Inspire-PhD grant holders are also eligible to apply. ( except for Humanities & Social Sciences).
• IISER conducts a personal interview before making the final decision.

IISER Pune Summer Internship
