Indian Institute of Technology Goa, the newest IIT, came into existence in 2016. Currently, IIT Goa is administrating from its temporary campus, Goa Engineering College. Located at Farmagudi, Ponda, which is 29km away from Panaji. However, the Government has approved 320 acres of land to construct the IIT Goa Permanent Campus. It is now being built at Sattari, North Goa. The institute offers B Tech, M Tech, and Doctorate Programmes in several technical domains.

The institute's B. Tech program is its flagship. The IIT Goa BTech program is available in four specialties. There are 157 seats available overall. The JEE Advanced followed by JOSAA Counselling determines admission to the B Tech. IIT Goa M Tech course is available in three disciplines. Admissions will be offered based on GATE Results. All M Tech applicants must register on COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal).
Additionally, applicants must satisfy the IIT Goa Cut off to be eligible. IIT Goa Ph.D. Admission is based on UGC-NET/JRF/NBHM/ICAR or equivalent exam scores.

Regarding placement, IIT in Goa holds great records even though it is the youngest IIT. Every year, top recruiters like Microsoft, Paytm, KPMG, ABB, Reliance, Bosch, and VMWare visit the Goa IIT Campus to hire the graduates. IIT Goa's highest Package for students is INR 43 LPA. The IIT Goa average package is at INR 8 LPA. Around 90% of BTech students and 77% of MTech students received job offers for 2021. After accepting the offers, the average pay was INR 11.6 LPA for BTech and INR 8 LPA for MTech.

IIT Goa Admission

IIT Goa BTech Admission

Admission to the B Tech in IIT Goa is based on JEE Advanced Results. Students must first qualify for JEE Main Entrance Exam with a valid score. And, they must qualify for the minimum JEE Main Cut off. Only eligible students are allowed to take up JEE Advanced. Candidates must take part in JoSSA counseling after being accepted into JEE Advanced. Final applicants are chosen based on their performance in Class 12th; JEE Advanced IIT Goa Cut off.

IIT Goa B Tech Cut-off will be formed based on JEE Advanced Results. Students must score equivalent to the cutoff criteria defined by the admission authority.

IIT Goa MTech Admission

The MTech program, available at the PG level, is another popular course at IIT Goa. The IIT Goa MTech program features three specialties with a 36-seat admission limit. GATE scores and the COAP Counseling procedure are the only criteria used to determine admission to the program. Students with valid GATE scores must register on the COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal). Upon successful registration, they must again register on the IIT Goa admission portal.

IIT Goa MTech cut off

Electrical engineering, computer science, and mechanical engineering are the three specializations in the IIT Goa M Tech degree. Applicants must satisfy the IIT Goa GATE Cut off.

IIT Goa Ph.D. Admission

The School of Mechanical Sciences, the School of Mathematics and Computer Science, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the School of Electrical Sciences are the five academic departments at IIT Goa that provide Ph.D. admission. The course lasts three or 36 months, spread across six semesters.

To be admitted to IIT Goa's Ph.D. program in any field, the applicant must have earned a PG degree in a related field with at least 60 percent of the possible points (5 percent relaxation for reserved category applicants). Must hold a current Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) from CSIR, UGC, NBHM, DBT, ICAR, ICMR, or ICPR in the appropriate streams, as well as a valid GATE score.

The IIT Goa placement rate was 87 percent in the 2021 drive. A total of 121 recruiters took part in the hiring process. 90% of B. Tech students and 76.5 percent of MTech students who had enrolled for placements had been assigned. In the 2021 placement drive, INR 43 LPA was the IIT Goa's highest Package. IIT Goa's placement office actively connects B. Tech students with internship and employment opportunities. The first job drive for IIT Goa Placements 2020 had a successful placement. A total of 37 candidates were placed in 2020 out of the 70 that registered for the placement. Many of the students have received PPO offers from their internship organizations. IIT Goa B. Tech Average Package stood at INR 18 LPA. At the same time, the highest Package offered was INR 30 LPA. IIT Goa CSE Placement rate is 80.5%, the highest among all.

IIT Goa Summer Internships

NSM Nodal Centre for Training in HPC and AI (Artificial Intelligence) at IIT Goa offers summer internships. It is an Online Internship; the stipend will be INR 8,000 per month. The duration of the IITG internship is three months. However, all the interns will get paid only after the successful completion of their internships. IIT Goa Summer Internships 2022 are supported by the NSM (National Supercomputing Mission), Govt of India with CDAC.
