Xavier Institute of Social Service provides a PGDM program in several specializations like Rural Management, Human Resource Management, Finance, Information Technology, and Marketing. However, the duration of the PGDM course will be two years, and the total intake capacity for each PGDM are 60 seats. Candidates who have passed their graduation degree in any stream will be eligible to apply, and it is mandatory and essential to have good marks in the entrance exams like XAT, CMAT, and CAT.

First the candidate with a graduation degree in any stream will be eligible for admission. Provided, the college is recognized by the AICTE and they have secured a min. of 55% average marks. Second, the candidate should have taken the CAT/XAT/CMAT their performance in this will determine the candidates chances of making through to the next round. The shortlisted candidates will have to take a group discussion on global current affairs followed by a personal interview with the PI panel of the college. Their performance will determine their selection. The candidates can apply online through the official website by making a payment through any of the online modes.

Looking to secure admission in Xavier Institute of Social Service, must have completed bachelor’s degree with required 50% aggregate score in any discipline. Final admissions will be granted on the basis of entrance exam. Thus, candidates must clear any of the national level entrance exam such as CAT, CMAT and XAT.

PGDM course at Xavier Institute of Social Service has the eligibility criteria of completion of graduation from a recognized university with minimum of 55% aggregate score. It is necessary for the candidates to secure a valid score in CAT/XAT/CMAT entrance examination.


I have a query regarding admission in mba???as u have written here that eligibility for mba from Xiss is i should hv minimum 55% aggregate in graduation...if i score good in entrance exams like xat mat etc then also graduation % is required this much as i m a student of calcutta university n i have 53% marks in graduation (aggregate).is my admn possible next year as i hv not given any of the entrance exams this year???

In graduation minimum 55% is mandatory for the candidates to seek admission at Xavier Institute of Social Service. PGDM course eligibility is 55% in graduation followed by CAT/XAT/CMAT entrance examination. Shortlisted candidates will be further called for group discussion and personal interview.

Admission process for PGDM programme:-

  • Candidate should have bachelor’s degree with minimum 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST) in any discipline recognized by Association of Indian Universities.  
  • The candidate has to apply for an entrance test, be it CAT, XAT or CMAT,or more than one entrance tests,followed by group discussion, assessment of writing skills and personal interview.
  • The candidate has to also apply separately at XISS, Ranchi though online mode.
  • Fee structure for PGDM programme will be around INR 5.59lakhs for the complete course.

The selection will be done on the basis of the following weightage:-

  • Entrance Test score – 40%
  • Past Academic record – 20%
  • Group Discussion – 5%
  • Personal Interview – 30%
  • Writing Assessment Test – 5%
