Utkal University is a teaching cum affiliating University. It is the 17^th Oldest University in India. NAAC accredits the University with an "A+ Grade. • During selection, 50% of the weightage will be given to the entrance test scores. In contrast, the remaining 50% weightage will be given to the academic marks for the bachelor's degree. It applies to all MA Specializations except for MA Personnel Management & Industrial Relations (PIMR).
• For MA in PMIR, 40% weightage will be given for the Entrance Test and 20% weightage for GD/PI Rounds. The remaining 40% weightage will be given academic marks.

Utkal University Law Admission

Under the law stream, the Utkal University LLM program is available at the PG level. Candidates are required to meet the eligibility terms for applying to the course.

• Students who wish to apply for MCA must have completed their bachelor's degree BCA with above 55% aggregate. In addition, they must have studied mathematics as the main subject in 10+2.
• Students who have completed B Com with 50% marks overall can apply for M Com admission.

Utkal University M Tech Admission

Under the sponsored Category, Utkal University offers two-year M Tech in two major specializations. Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology

• Admission to the M. Tech program is facilitated based on the scores gained in the GATE examinations.
• However, securing at least 55% aggregate marks in the qualifying B. Tech /  BE / BCA degree exams is important to become eligible for the program.
• Non-GATE applicants are mandated to take up the university-based entrance exam.

Utkal University M Pharm and MJMC Admission

University offers M Pharm and MA in Journalism & Mass Communication Courses at the PG level under the Sponsored Category.

• For admission to the M Pharm in Utkal University, students shall have completed UG Degree B Pharm with 50% marks from a recognized University. However, applicants are selected based on the state-level entrance exam OJEE.
• Students willing to apply for admission to the MJMC must have studied BJMC at the UG level. In addition, they shall have obtained a minimum of 50% marks. Performance in the University-Based entrance test determines admission.

Utkal University B.Ed Admission

The University offers a two-year B.Ed Programme. The annual intake for the course is 50 students. In addition, the University offers 6-month internship in a Primary / Secondary level school.

• Candidates seeking admission to the B.Ed in Utkal University shall have completed a bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized University. Admissions will be offered based on the student's performance in the Entrance Exam.
• According to the  Utkal University Exam Pattern, it comprises 100 MCQ Questions. Therefore, there is no provision for Negative Marking. Utkal University B.Ed Cut off is 60%

Utkal University B Pharm Admission

University offers admission to the B Pharm at the UG level under the Sponsored Category.

• Candidates seeking admission to the Utkal University UG Courses B Pharm must have passed 10+2 with PCB as a mandatory subject from a recognized board.
• The qualifying marks should be above 50% marks. In contrast, a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks applies to the SC/ST Category.

Utkal University Integrated Courses

Candidates also have the option to choose Utkal University Dual Degree /Integrated Programmes. The courses are BSc+MSc, BCA+MCA and BBA+MBA. Applicants will be nominated based on their performance in the entrance exam and 10+2 academic merit.

• Integrated MBA (BBA+MBA): Students who cleared 10+2 can apply. Students from commerce backgrounds will be preferred during the shortlisting process.
• Candidates seeking admission to the Integrated MCA must have passed 10+2. Besides, they should have studied Mathematics as their main subject.
• For admission to the BSc+MSc, students must have studied PCB as the key subject in 10+2. The minimum marks should be above 45%.

Utkal University Ph.D. / M Phil Admission

At the doctoral level, Utkal University offers M.Phil and Ph.D. programs in several disciplines. Candidates having a Master's degree in the pertinent discipline with not less than 55% marks are eligible to apply for admission.

PhD Admission is facilitated based on the Written Test followed by an interview. Meanwhile, for an M.Phil, admission is based on academic merit, followed by a viva voce conducted by the University.

Candidates qualified in national-level exams such as UGC-NET/GATE/SLET/ICSSR/ICHR/ will be exempted from the Utkal University PhD Entrance Exam. Besides, LLM, M Tech, and M Phil degree holders are also exempted from the entrance exam.
