CBIT Hyderabad B Tech Admission Process

Admissions to the Engineering degree program at this institution are carried out through different quotas:

CBIT Category  A Admission/Convener's Quota (70% of Intake):

  • Candidates seeking admission must have passed the Intermediate examination (10+2/HSC), Government of Telangana, with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as optional subjects or an equivalent qualification recognized by Osmania University.
  • Eligible applicants must also qualify for the EAMCET Examination by the Government of Telangana.
  • Admissions are decided based on merit in the Entrance Examination, following seat reservation rules for various categories.
  • Candidates should be from Telangana or Andhra Pradesh states and satisfy Local/Non-Local status requirements as per regulations.

CBIT B Category Admission (Management Quota, 30% of seats):

  • This category fills 30% of seats based on ranks obtained in JEE Mains, EAMCET, and Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) or equivalent. To be eligible for admission under the Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology Management Quota, students must secure a minimum of 50% aggregate or in group subjects (PCM) in the 10+2 qualifying examination or as per government norms.
  • B.E/B.Tech – Lateral Entry: For admission into the 2nd year (Lateral Entry), candidates must take the State Level Common Entrance Test ECET (Engineering Common Entrance Test) conducted by the State Government. This lateral entry option allows students with prior engineering education to continue their studies.
  • Candidates who rank below 10,000 in TS EAMCET don't have to pay tuition fees as an extra incentive. That makes the institute more accessible to high-performing entrance exam students. Applicants seeking admission under the Convenor Quota must satisfy the CBIT Hyderabad Cutoff.

CBIT offers admissions to its B.E./B.Tech programs in various specializations. Eligibility criteria mandate candidates to have passed their 10+2 exams with at least 45% aggregate marks, with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as optional subjects from a recognized board. To get into colleges in Andhra Pradesh, candidates must take the EAMCET, a common entrance test by the state government. After the test, selected candidates attend counseling. Their final selection depends on their rank in the counseling process. To be noted, 70% of seats are allotted for Convenor Quota/State Quota.
