Birla Institute offers admission to the B Tech at the UG level. B Tech at Birla College, Nainital is available in two disciplines. In addition, diploma holders can seek admission to the B Tech Lateral program in BIAS. The total intake for B Tech second year is 24 seats.

BIAS B.Tech Eligibility/Selection Criteria
- Candidates who have cleared JEE Main Entrance Test with a valid rank can apply for B Tech admission at Birla Institute.
- To be eligible for the B Tech course in BIAS, candidates have to pass 10+2/Intermediate with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks. In addition, they must have studied PCM as the main subjects.
- Candidates who have completed a three-year Diploma course can apply for B Tech Lateral Course in BIAS. The selection of the candidates will be based on UKSEE Entrance Test. (Uttarakhand State Entrance Exam)
- UKSEE is a state-level entrance test administrated by Uttarakhand Technical University.
- Candidates who wish to secure admission under the government quota at the BIAS have to attend online counselling conducted by UTU, Dehradun. The final seat allotment will be done through counselling phases.
- Candidates can even seek direct admission at Biral Institute Nainital. The selection of the candidates will be based on 10+2 academic merit followed by institute level counselling.
BIAS MCA Admission
In addition to B Tech, the college also offers admission to the MCA at the PG level. A total of 45 seats have been awarded for the MCA programme at BIAS. Furthermore, for two years, the institute offers M.Tech lateral entry to its students. A total of 35 seats have been assigned.

BIAS MCA Eligibility/Selection Criteria
- For MCA admission at BIAS, candidates must appear for the UKSEE Entrance Test conducted by UTU. The selection of the candidates depends on the performance in UKSEE followed by online counselling.
- To apply for UKSEE, candidates must have done UG degree BCA/BE-B Tech (Computer science)/BSc (Computer science) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. In addition, candidates shall have studied Mathematics as the main subject.
- Candidates can apply for MCA admission under Management Quota at BIAS based on academic merit.
- For institute level seats/management quota, candidates are required to attend institute level counselling sessions. By considering UG scores, a merit list will be prepared.
BIAS Application Process
- Candidates seeking admission to the B Tech or MCA must undertake the entrance test JEE Main/UKSEE as a primary step.
- If students wish to secure admission seats under the government quota, they must visit the UKSEE Website to apply online. Then, through the UKSEE State level counselling phases, seat allotment will be done.
- If students wish to apply for Management quota, they can apply online directly by visiting the college main's website. Henceforth, the BIAS application form filling procedure is online.
- In addition, students are required to pay INR 2000/- as counselling fees. The payment can be done online.
- BIAS will offer direct admission based on academic merit followed by Institute level counselling.
