NATA Tie Breaking Criteria

NTA has revised the NEET Tie-Breaking Criteria to break a tie between students who will score the same marks in the examination. If two or more students scored the same on the exam, the ranks would be assigned using the following criteria.

  • Students with higher biology grades will be given preference or a higher rank.
  • If the tie does not break, the students with the highest chemistry scores will be given a higher rank.
  • If the tie does not break, the students with the highest physics scores will be given a higher rank.
  • Students with fewer incorrect responses than correct ones in Biology will be ranked higher.
  • Students with fewer incorrect responses than correct ones in Chemistry will be ranked higher.
  • Students with fewer incorrect responses than correct responses in Physics will be given a higher rank.
  • If the tie cannot be broken after using all of the methods above, the older student will be given a higher rank.
  • Finally, the authorities will rank the students in ascending order based on their application number.
