Delhi School of Economics commonly known as DSE has been considered among the premium Business Schools in India. DSE was started in 1948 by the VKRV Rao and the support and help of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The institution was started just after independence to empower students and give them education in the socio-economic field. The institute is located on the North Campus of Delhi University. DSE is a constituent department under the state-university, Delhi University, and got its approval from the University Grant Commission (UGC). DSE has been considered as one of the oldest and renowned business schools.

The institution offers multiple degree programs conducted at the UG and PG levels in management studies and business administration. All of these courses are conducted full-time and have been approved by the UGC, Ministry of HRD, New Delhi. Since 2015, DSE Started to offer a full time two year MBA Courses. The institution offers multiple scholarships and financial aid to the students based on their merit and their financial condition.

  2. In 2020 the Business Today ranked DSE 44th for the Management Colleges.

Delhi School of Economics Admission

  • DSE offers an MBA degree course of 2 years at the postgraduate level. The course is offered in the area of management studies.
  • The MBA courses at DSE are full-time and it is held on-campus. The institute offers MBA degree programs under 2 different specializations. The MBA specializations available at DSE are, MBA in International Business (IB) and an MBA in Human Resources Development (HRD).
  • The total intake of candidates in the MBA courses in DSE is 146.
  • Delhi School of Economics MBA Admission is based on the entrance test and cut off criteria. Candidates have to undertake CAT Mandatory for being shortlisted.
  • Every year DSE release the CAT cut off list for MBA Admission. According to that, seats are assigned as well. They will be shortlisted to further selection rounds. 
  • The applicants will also be required to pass the DSE MBA eligibility criteria, which are as follows,
  1. The candidates applying for the MBA courses must have completed their graduate-level degree program or any 10+2+3 equivalent course.
  2. The course should have been conducted in any stream.
  3. The degree course should have been initiated through any university that got its approval under the joint committee of UGC, All India Council for Technical Education, or Association of Indian Universities.
  4. The candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in all of the subjects calculated together at graduation level.
  5. The applicants must have undertaken a national-level common entrance test conducted every year, CAT.

DSE MBA selection criteria

  • The candidates will be shortlisted based on the DSE CAT cut-off criteria for MBA Admission.
  • Candidates who score above 80 percentile in CAT have a high chance of being shortlisted for MBA admission in DSE.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for another round of assessment. In that, the candidates will have to appear in the personal interview round as well as in the group discussion round.
  • The final selection criteria for MBA at DSE will be done through the marks secured in the entrance examination + marks secured in the personal interview + performance in the group discussion.
  • Along with that in the MBA selection at DSE, the marks in the 12th board and 10th board, graduation level examination, and extempore will also be given consideration.
  • The seats will be allocated to the candidates after evaluating them on various selection parameters; each criterion will hold its weightage.
