The Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research

Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research was started in the year 1957 and located in 244 A.J.C Bose Road, Kolkata, West Bengal. It is affiliated with West Bengal University of Health Sciences, Kolkata and approved by Medical Council of India.

• The institute campus is around 34 acres. The library is well-equipped with 20,359 books, 3000 Indian & 2146 Thesis, 26000 Foreign Journals. The college provides high-quality education and good atmosphere.
• This college is known PG hospital abbreviated to Presidency General Hospital or even known as SSKM Hospital which is a government hospital of the west Bengal State. This is also considered as National Research College and is also having Super speciality facilities.
• IPGMER offers courses such as MBBS for which the admission is done through the National eligibility cum Entrance Test which is shortly known as NEET- UG conducted by the CBSE.
• B.Sc. and BPT course admission is also done according to the merit of the students and paramedical programs admissions are done as per the competitive test conducted at national level.
• The Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research fee structure for the courses being a government medical college is INR 8,100 per annum for the MBBS course, BPT Fee is INR 12,500 per annum and B.Sc. fee is INR 12,500.
• This college is been ranked 19^th in the medical colleges by India Today. IPGMER has hostel facilities at the grounds of college. There are 3 hostels for UG students and 1 hostel block for PG students.
