Navodaya Education Trust started the Navodaya Institute of Technology in the year 2009. It is a private college which is approved by MHRD, AICTE and Government of India and is affiliated to VTU. The institute offers B.E with six specializations and M.Tech with two specializations with curriculum designed by industrial experts. The admissions of the candidates in the institute is based on the rank scored in the KCET, GATE and PGCET exams conducted at the national and state level.

The institute covers 30 acres of land with basic facilities like hostel, auditorium, library, laboratory, cafeteria, medical, gym, sports and computer labs within the campus.
The institute has academic collaboration with Sona College of Technology for inculcating technological research, innovative curriculum, exchange of students and faculties, training programs for improving soft skills and assistance for placement.
The auditorium is air conditioned with seating facility for more than 500 staff and students and an open theatre with accommodation for 2500 students equipped with audio and visual aids.

4 hostels for girls and 3 for boys is present within the campus with seating for 3000 students having double and triple occupancy rooms at an affordable rate. Conference hall named CM Gurumurthy is present within the campus fitted with slide projector, LCD projector and overhead projector where placement programs, seminars and symposiums are conducted.
