Institute of Ocean Management

The IOM has completed its 2 decades of imparting the education to all the society of the people and the college is the multi-disciplinary group in the Anna University this university is having the academic tradition in education, research and the consultancy services. This institute is the critical source of imparting the dedicated expertise to coastal and ocean resource and research studies.

• The mission of the college is developing a planned and sustainable development of the marine and the coastal resources via building the coastal management and extensive research
• The main objective of the college is to provide information to the decision makers in the integrated form by mapping and evaluation of physical, biological resources including the ocean and coastal areas

They also have vision to increase the developed expertise and awareness in the integrated ocean and coastal resources management by training and education of the resources students, users and managers

Placements

• The college has the career guidance cell in the college is helpful to the students in the placements. They give guidance to the students for the career
• The students of the college will be given training on the communication and soft skills with the personality development in them
• Some of the students get placed in the companies, government enterprises and some of them will be going for the teachers job

Courses

• M.Tech (in coastal management) is the full time course where the student has to be passed in the graduation in B.Tech and the course duration will be for 2 years and the fee is INR 49,400/- approximately
• Ph.D. is a full time course in the college and the course duration will be for 2 years and the fee structure for the course will be INR 29,000/- approximately

Admission Process

The admission has to be done from the submission of the application. It can be applied in online and offline modes. The application can be done in months of April and May with required fees

The eligibility criteria for the students will be like they have to be passed in the degree from a recognized university with the pattern like 10+2+3/4 years

Infrastructure

• The college has the excellent infrastructure. The laboratory is well-equipped and they have all modern research facilities. It includes analytical laboratories for trace gas measurements, wet chemistry studies and sediment preparation

The library facilities are very excellent and that is well-equipped. The library is maintained with good furniture and a librarian with good knowledge
