Government Tool Room & Training Centre was bought into existence in the academic year of 1972 to emerge as an International Centre of Excellence in Training production, R & D and Consultancy Services related to tooling & Precision Manufacturing Technology- from concept to End product.  The institution focuses continuously on improving training skills and providing a highly-skilled workforce to industries. Government Tool Room & Training Centre was approved by AICTE and is affiliated with VTU.

• Government Tool Room & Training Centre offers Long term and short-term courses, in various specializations.
• The long-term training program comprises BE, M. Tech & Diploma courses, and a Short-term training program composing CNC Prog & Machining, Auto CAD, Master CAM, Pro-Engineering, etc.
• For admission into Long term training program, the candidate must have passed SSLC or equivalent frorecognizedised institution and must have secured a valid score in relevant entrance examinations.
• For admission into Short-term training programs, the candidate must have completed ITI, Diploma, BE, from a recognized board of education with at least 50% aggregate marks.
• The fee structure of courses at the Government Tool Room & Training Centre is quite feasible and can be paid in installments per annum. BE course's total fee structure is around INR 72,360; the M. Tech course is INR 48,780, and the polytechnic program can be completed with a total expenditure of INR 1.43 Lakhs.

The institution was established by the collaboration of the state government of Karnataka and Denmark's government; under the agreement of Bi-lateral development co-operation, it is an autonomous society. The institution is catering to the nation by way of providing well-trained craftsperson in the area of tool and die making and also by precision tooling

• The college has the central vision that the key to meet the global requirements' needs is by the well trained and skilled human resources.
• In the present situation, the institution has acquired the mastery in molding and the die making technology and high quality and sophisticated manufacture of dies, molds, and too. Ls.
• The college uses the new technology to upgrade the student to the industry's present needs, and the techniques used are CAD/ CAM, CNC machines, Vacuum casting, etc.

• The examination team of the college takes the college placement procedures. The college has many companies like HAL, BEML, NAL, and other private companies like TVS, GE, etc.
• The college has good placements as it has many links with these companies the students have a good opportunity in the job because of the reputation of the college provides internships in the different departments for every student of that college, and the stipends are dependent on the companies in which the student does his training.
