The first management college in Odisha was the Regional College of Management (RCM), which opened its doors in 1982. It is the first management institute established by the UGC in Eastern India. The college offers admission to the BBA and BCA at the UG level. Candidates wishing to apply for UG courses must ensure the eligibility criteria defined by the college. Admission to the aspirants is given based on their Merit in the qualifying exam and score attained in the individual Interviews conducted by the institute.

MBA/ PGDM Eligibility Criteria 

• The minimal eligibility criteria for admission to PGDM is to have at least a 3-time Bachelor's degree in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, AICTE, or UGC.
• Candidates must have a minimum 50% aggregate in the UG degree exam, which is down to 45% in the case of candidates belonging to the SC/ST category.
• All candidates must possess a valid MAT/CAT/XAT/CMAT/ATMA/OJEE score.
• Candidates in the final year of a Bachelor's degree or course may also apply. However, they must furnish proof of pursuing graduation (Mark sheets till the final Semester).

MBA Selection Criteria

During the selection procedure, the entrance exam score, academic performance, work experience, and the score of GD & PI are considered.  

• 50% preference is given to the common entrance test
• 15- 20% to academic performance
• 15% of Interviews
• 10- 15% to GD
• 5% to work experience.  

PGDM Selection Process 

Eligible seekers will be implanted for appearing in a Group discussion and Interview. This phase assesses personality attributes like leadership capacities, grasping capability, logical study process, communication sessions, etc.  

Final selection is made based on the overall rank, taking into account the following factors and their weight score in the Common Admission test – 

• 35 to 60% Score for academic performance in X Std., XII Std., 
• Undergraduate Degree/ Post Graduate Degree – 5 to 25%  
• Group discussion/ interview – 20 to 45% 
• Weightage for participation in Sports, extracurricular conditioning, Academic diversity, and Gender diversity – 5 to 20%
