Lady Irwin College was established in 1932 under Lady Dorothy Irwin's patronage at New Delhi. The college has a motto of "VIDYA HI SEWA" and aims to provide the best teaching and infrastructural facilities to students to help them become leading entrepreneurs in the future. Most of the buildings of the college have been classified as heritage sites. The institute offers B. Sc. UG courses in Home Science and PG courses of the college include M. Sc., Post Graduate Diploma, B. Ed, and PhD. To apply for these courses, the candidates have to check the eligibility requirements.

  • Lady Irwin College offers two UG programs. They include B. Sc. and B. Sc. (Hons).
  • The Bachelor of Science is a 3-year full-time UG program with a specialization in Home Science. Lady Irwin College has 277 seats available for this course, out of which 166 are reserved for SC/ST, OBC, and EWS candidates.
  • Bachelor of Science (Hons) is a 3-year full-time program. It has specialization in two streams. They are Food Technology and Home Science. The college has 127 seats for the Home Science course while 40 seats for the Food Technology course annually. The candidates must check the eligibility criteria and cut-off scores.
  • To apply for B. Sc. (Hons), the candidate must have more than 50% aggregate marks in any three of Physics/ Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Biochemistry with English as a compulsory subject.
  • The merit of the students will be prepared by calculating aggregate percentage including at least one subject of Physics/Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry, and anyone additional subject.

  • Lady Irwin College Master of Science course is a full-time PG course of 2 years.
  • Lady Irwin College M. Sc. course has five different streams. These are Food Nutrition (52 seats), Human Development and Childhood Studies (28 seats), Resource Management and Design Application (28 seats), Development Communication Extension (28 seats), and Fabric and Apparel Science (47 seats).
  • The candidates need to qualify for their B. Sc. degree from a recognized university with more than 60% marks (55% for the reserved candidate) in relevant subjects to be eligible for the desired stream in this course.

  • Lady Irwin College Post Graduate Diploma course is a full-time PG course of 1 year.
  • It offers PG Diploma course offers one specialization in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition. The college provides 47 seats annually for this course
  • Lady Irwin College B. Ed. The course is a full-time PG course of 2 years. In addition, the college offers a general B. Ed. Course and a Special Education course in Mental Retardation.
  • There are 125 seats allotted annually for B. Ed. Course and 38 seats are allotted for Special Education course in Mental Retardation.

The mode of the Lady Irwin College application process is online. The candidates need to visit the official website of DU. The application form for any Delhi University's constituent colleges will be available there.

  • Students can visit the DU website for UG and PG courses and fill up the form of Lady Irwin College.
  • Fill in all the relevant details in the form. Then, upload the scanned images of documents and make the payment.
  • 750 INR will be the application fee. The candidates who clear the cut-off will be shortlisted after counselling and called for a document verification process.
