IGNOU Shimla UG Admission

IGNOU offers undergraduate (UG) programs through its regional centres, including the Shimla Regional Centre. The admission criteria for UG programs at IGNOU Shimla Regional Centre are generally as follows.

BA: Students interested in enrolling in this course should study the minimal eligibility requirements set by the University. The BA program covers both scoring subjects and theoretical knowledge of the disciplines.

B Com: Anyone with a 10+2 degree is qualified for admission. Candidates without a 10+2 who have completed the IGNOU's Bachelors Preparatory Programme (BPP) are also eligible to apply.

BCA: The program provides students who have completed their 10+2 requirements and are interested in pursuing a career in computing or IT with a pathway to admission for computer courses. They shall have studied Mathematics as the main subject.

BSc: To be eligible for the B.Sc. programs at IGNOU, one must have successfully finished their 10+2 in the Science stream. Students must graduate from a recognized board's 10+2 program with at least 50% of the required marks or an equivalent.

BSW: Candidates must have completed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board or institution. There is no specific age limit for admission to the BSW program. The BSW program does not require candidates to have studied a specific stream in their higher secondary education. Students from any stream—arts, science, commerce, or vocational—can apply for the program.

BLIS: Bachelor's degree with at least 50% overall (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PH categories) or UG degree with a one-year diploma in library science OR Bachelor's degree with at least two years of experience working in a library or information centre are the prerequisites for the BLIS program.

IGNOU Shimla B.Ed: The two-year BEd program is offered to students in both Hindi and English. IGNOU offers in-depth instruction and fosters the development of mentorship skills. Candidates for the BEd program must have earned a bachelor's degree from a recognized university in any stream or specialty with at least a 55 percent grade point average. The entrance exam is a requirement for IGNOU BEd admission. It will be a computer-based test administered by the NTA. Mcom: Eligibility requirements are Graduates in any discipline, or equivalent, from a recognized university or institute. Candidates who have finished B com will be given preference.

MCA: Eligibility Criteria include passing a UG degree in CSE, IT, engineering, or a related field or an equivalent degree.

MSc: Candidates who have earned a science bachelor's degree should consider the M.Sc. Both students & working professionals can benefit from program study. Having a BS in a related field is a requirement for eligibility.

MLIS: Candidates with a BLIS degree or equivalent from any accredited university or similar institution are eligible for the program. Candidates with experience working for libraries, information centres, or other relevant organizations will be given more weight.

MSW: The MSW (ODL) program allows students to further their education in professional social work. There are eligibility requirements for a degree in biology from a reputable university.
