IGNOU Shillong regional centre came into existence in 1988. The courses are available at UG and PG standards. IGNOU Shillong UG Admissions
IGNOU Courses in Shillong at the UG level B.Com, BCA, B.Sc., BA, BLIS, BSW, B.Ed. and Diploma programs. Most of the graduation programs are for three years. Also, the admissions are based on primary academic merit. They will consider marks from the qualifying examination.
B.Com admissions: It is one of the famous and familiar programs chosen as the UG program. It is a three years program. The applicants willing to apply for admissions must have completed 10+2 board exams in any stream. Passing in commerce subjects at the 12th board exams is recommended. They must have secured min of 50% in general and 45% for reserved candidates.
The B.Com curriculum is available in general. The admissions will be done on the basis of merit, and selections will be based on the application submission and 10+2 certificate. The B.Com fee structure is INR 12,812 for the entire program.
BCA admissions: This course is offered for students aspiring to graduate in computer applications. The minimum duration is 3 years, and the max is 6 years. There is no age bar limit to pursue their degree.
The minimum criteria are to have done 10+2 in mathematics subject as a distinct subject. The main objective of the curriculum is to channel opportunities in computing courses.
The admissions and selection process is based on merit scores in the qualifying exam and shortlisting of applications. The BCA course fees structure 12,754 for the entire program.
B.Sc. admissions: Students looking for B.Sc. admissions in IGNOU must have done 10+2 exams in the recognized board in the science stream with a min of 50% or its equivalent. There is no age limit for the candidates to apply for admission. The B.Sc. curriculum is available in subjects: Civil Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering. The B.Sc. admission is INR 12,870.
BA admissions: The objective of this program is to give a better understanding of the Arts and Humanities stream. The course duration is min 3 years and max 6 years. The course is available in general with multiple specializations. The applicants must have passed in 10+2 board exams. They must submit the applications online, and the shortlisted ones can be processed for admission. The total fee structure for BA is INR 12638.
BLIS admissions: The program duration is for 1 year. The minimum requirement is to have completed a bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate scores, a bachelor's Diploma in Library Science, or a bachelor's degree with working experience in a Library and information centre. The BLIS course fee structure is INR 12580 for the entire program.
BSW admissions: The course is to give a better understanding of social work-related works. Hence, students can choose for BSW program at the UG level. The only requirement is to have done 10+2 board exams in any discipline with a min of 50% marks. The BSW course fee by the University is INR 5900 per annum. The total fees are INR 12522.
Diploma admissions: The diploma is also a three years program. The basic eligibility to join the Diploma program is to have completed their 10th exams from the recognized board or its equivalent. There is no entrance exam required for the selection process.

Also, the admissions are based on fundamental academic merit. They will consider marks from the qualifying examination. M.Com admissions: The M.Com course lasts two years and max 4 years. The minimum eligibility for admissions is to have a bachelor's degree in any stream, and the selections will be made on merit. The M.Com course fee structure is INR 11,000 for the total program.
MCA admissions: This PG program is for those who want to pursue higher studies in Computer Applications. As the admission criteria, the applicants must have finished a BCA degree from a recognized University with at least 50%. For the selection process, no entrance exam scores are considered for admissions. The MCA fees are INR 64000 as total fees. It will cost INR 32000 per annum.
M.Sc. admissions: Students willing to pursue higher studies in the science stream can join M.Sc. at this University. The program duration will be for min 2 years and max 4 years. The applicants must have finished their B.Sc. degree or their graduation in any other stream from a recognized institute or University with a min of 50% marks. The M.Sc. course fee structure is INR 22,000 for the entire program.
IGNOU Shillong MA admission: MA is a PG program for 2 years. The eligibility criteria are to have completed their degree in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% mark. MSW admissions: The min duration is 2 years and max 5 years. The only eligibility criteria to join the program is to have completed their graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University. The medium is English and Hindi. The MSW course fee is INR 36,000 for the entire program.
MLIS admissions: This is a PG program in Library science program. It is a 1-year program. The only requirement is that; the applicants must have completed the BLIS program and be certified by AICTE approved University. Even candidates with working experience can apply for the MLIS program. The admissions are based on merit, and a specific entrance exam is required. The MLIS academic fee structure is INR 11,100 for the course.
M.Ed. admissions: The admissions for the M.Ed. program applies only to those who have completed B.Ed. Program from a recognized University. The curriculum provides only education discipline. The selection criteria are that the students must have appeared for IGNOU Entrance Test that the University will conduct. The M.Ed. course fee structure for the entire program is INR 18,000.
PG Diploma admissions: The program is availed for those who have graduated in any stream with no backlogs and are certified by a recognized University. For the selections, the authority will consider qualifying merit scores. However, no individual entrance test scores are required. PG Diploma program is similar to the MBA course outcome.
