The Department of Financial Studies (DFS) was founded in 1987 at the University of Delhi. A full-time two-year MBA (Financial Management) program and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program are available at the university. The Department of Financial Studies is one of the most recent academic institutions to join the CFA University Affiliation Program. The University Affiliation Program is open to educational institutions that incorporate a large portion of the CFA Program, CBOK, including the Standards of Professional Conduct and Code of Ethics, into the curriculum. Developed the course curriculum based on comprehensive consultations with leading practitioners in the industry, eminent academicians, and MBA (FM) alumni employed at senior levels in the industry to meet the course's objectives. DFS's program introduces students to the finer points of finance. It provides students with the skills necessary to pursue a successful career in finance. The MBA (FM) program will give you a thorough understanding of the financial services industry. This is in addition to the course program's other requirements, geared toward overall technical and personality development and graduation and success in the corporate world.

On the other hand, it gives you the confidence and conviction to tackle the requirements effectively. DFS's course offerings have changed over time, allowing students to keep up with the ever-changing financial services environment. The students are subjected to rigorous training to acquire relevant domain knowledge and add value to the organization.

  • Candidate must have completed or been in the final year of graduation (10+2+3) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks to apply for a DFS MBA.
  • At the 10+2 step, I should have chosen Math/Business Math. Candidates in their final year of graduation must meet the requirements mentioned above.
  • To seek admission to the Department of Financial Studies, the University of Delhi candidate must pass the CAT test (There is no role in the selection process of IIMs or the program's conduct).
  • Candidates will be short-listed based on their CAT percentile.
  • DFS admission to students into its full-time two-year program will be offered through the Common Acceptance Exam, accompanied by a group discussion and a personal interview (PI).
  • Final selection is based on CAT scores, GD and PI marks, Class X and Class XII examination marks, and female candidates are given more weightage.
  • BA (Hons.) (Economics), BA (Hons.) (Business Economics), B. Com (Hons.), BBS/BMS, BBE, or BFIA/BBA (FIA) candidates earn extra credit.
  • Female candidates are granted preferential weightage.
  • Candidates are chosen based on the cut-offs set by DFS Delhi. So, the cut-off criteria go as OBC/SC/ST – 80 percentile and General – 95 percentiles.

Department of Financial Studies, University of Delhi Application Process

Only online applications will be accepted; no hard copy application forms will be available in the Department of Financial Studies, University of Delhi admission office.

  • Visit and apply on DFS's official website.
  • Applicants will register on the website by providing the required information and receiving a login ID and password.
  • Fill out the application form completely, including personal, academic, communication, and work experience details.
  • You may apply for two programs: an MBA in Finance at Delhi University's Department of Financial Studies (DFS) and an MBA in Business Economics (DBE) at Delhi University. The selection methods, on the other hand, are separate.
  • The application fee for PWD, ST, and SC students is INR 700, and for other applicants, it is INR 1000 for one program.
  • The application fee for both programs is INR 1200 for PWD, ST, and SC students and INR 2000 for anyone else.
  • After filling out the application form, submit and print it.
