Here is an important notice for the foreign students to pay attention. JEE Advance 2020 implements a new rule for the foreign applicants to appear for the exam directly.
Applicants can apply JEE Advance 2020 directly, incase the applicants are Overseas Citizenship of India card holders. This rule is applied in the favor of OCI card holders to take part in JEE Advance 2020. The IIT Council took a firm decision to ease the procedure for the Overseas Citizenship of India to be a part of JEE Advance in the year 2020.
The IIT Council, at their meeting held New Delhi decided to alter the rule for foreign applicants. Previously the foreign applicants had to appear for JEE Mains and after qualifying it, were eligible to appear for JEE Advance; but now according to the new rule the applicants are exempted from appearing for JEE Mains. JEE Mains was considered to be screening exam for the selection to JEE Advance which is considers to be IIT’s entrance exam.
The main reason for the implementation of this new rule is to encourage the foreign students to be a part of Indian Institute of Technology to enhance their career. Along with the new rule the IIT committee also decided to provide scholarship opportunities to the bright foreign students to study in Indian Institute of Technology.
HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, also the chaired person of IIT Council gave an approval for early exit option for B.Tech students. The IIT Council conducts meeting with the agenda to discuss the administrative and functional aspects of Indian Institute of Technologies every year.
Along with the creation of new rules to the Overseas Citizenship of India card holder the council also declared that the committee will offer online program to the JEE Advance 2020 applicants belonging to both India and Abroad. The rules for foreign faculties are also been relaxed as the process of recruitment will be liberalized as announced by the senior official of IIT Council.
