Sri Shanmugha College of Engineering and Technology (SSCET) is one of the leading engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu and was established in 2011 by the Sri Shanmugha Educational and Charitable Trust. The college is located in Salem, Tamil Nadu. It is affiliated with Anna University, and the AICTE has approved its courses.

  • SSCET offers engineering courses at an undergraduate as well as postgraduate level.
  • Candidates seeking admission in UG-level courses can choose from Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in 5 different streams.
  • PG-level students aspiring to study at SSCET can choose from Masters of Engineering (ME) in 4 different streams.

Sri Shanmugha College of Engineering and Technology BE Admission
SSCET offers BE/B Tech as an undergraduate course to its students. There are five specializations that the candidates can choose from. The annual intake capacity is 60 seats per branch.

  • SSCET offers BE/B Tech in the specializations such as Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
  • Candidates seeking admission to the B Tech at SSCET must qualify in 10+2 with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the science stream.
  • Admission is made based on the merit list of the TNEA. Anna University is responsible for preparing the TNEA Merit list by considering a 10+2 score.
  • Students whose name features in the TNEA merit list have to participate in the counselling phases. The final seat allocation takes place based on a 10+2 score as well as academic merit.

Sri Shanmugha College of Engineering and Technology Salem (SSCET) offers ME a postgraduate course to its students. There are four specializations that the students can choose from.

  • SSCET offers ME in the specializations such as VLSI Design, Applied Electronics, Computer Science and Engineering and Engineering Design.
  • Candidates seeking admission in any of the courses should have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in their Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Admission is made based on the merit list of the TANCET/ GATE entrance exams. Students must score well in the entrance exam as equal to the SSCET Cut off norms defined by college.

Sri Shanmugha College of Engineering and Technology Application Process
Admission to the undergraduate BE courses and postgraduate ME courses is based on the TNEA Counselling or TANCET/ GATE entrance exam. The guidelines prescribed by Anna University are to be followed. Candidates should register themselves on the official website to get admission to SSCET.

  • Open the official website of TNEA/ TANCET/ Anna University.
  • Register yourself on the official website by clicking on “Apply Now” and fill in the necessary details.
  • Login credentials will be sent to your email. Login to the website using the same.
  • Fill out the TNEA/ TANCET application form.
  • Pay the application fees online. For TNEA Registration, candidates have to pay INR 500.
  • Submit the application form.
