School of Management Studies CUSAT Ph.D Admission

The full-time and part-time doctoral programs are designed to support top-notch research in different management fields. Researchers are encouraged to tackle real-world problems faced by businesses today. Ph.D. students, whether full-time or part-time, must do coursework for at least one semester full-time within two years of starting their research. If they don't, they might have to leave the Ph.D. program. You can only apply for their PhD program offline by visiting the campus in person.

The coursework covers different topics:

  • Course I is about the candidate's research area, planned by the Doctoral Committee (DC) and approved by the Research Committee (RC).
  • Course II focuses on a specific research topic, which the DC and RC also plan and approve.
  • Course III teaches research methodology, including methods, computer use, ethics, and fieldwork, which are planned and approved by the faculty/department.
  • Course IV talks about Research and Publication Ethics (RPE), which is important for Ph.D. students.
  • Course V involves reviewing what has already been written about the candidate's research and developing a research plan.

The dissertation should contribute significantly to management knowledge and help solve real-world problems. It also gives students a chance to do their research in areas they're interested in.
