Salem College of Engineering and Technology (SCET) was established in the academic year of 2009, and since then, it is apt in providing quality education to technocrats. SCET is located on the National Highway (NH)-68, at the Salem Attur Main Road, in Mettupatty, near Perumapalayam, main area Selliamman Nagar, Salem, in the state of Tamil Nadu. The college environment is full of greenery, which provides students with the benefit of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. SCET is approved by AICTE and affiliated with Anna University (AU), Chennai. The college's motto is to give the graduates complete exposure to numerous industry-oriented programs to instil in them the calibre to face and constructively manage their future projects.

  • SCET offers admission in undergraduate program Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Master of Engineering (M.E)
  • Admission at SCET is based on the entrance exam and merit obtained in it. To apply for admissions, students must full fill the eligibility criteria prescribed by the college.

Salem College of Engineering and Technology (SCET) BE Admission
SCET provides admission in the UG program BE. Seven specializations are available in BE: Civil, Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communications, Biomedical, and Mechatronics.

  • Getting admission in the BE program at SCET depends on TNEA Merit Rank. Anna University releases the TNEA merit list based on 10+2 Marks.
  • Students who have achieved at least 50% marks in 10+2 PCM subjects or equivalent are eligible to apply for admission.
  • First of all, students must register for TNEA Counselling which is based on their 12th score. Later on, Anna University publishes the TNEA Merit list.
  • Students whose names are present in the merit list can participate in the TNEA Counselling session and fill in their preferences accordingly.

Students are expected to have scored a minimum of 50% marks in their 10+12 PCM subjects, can seek admission in the BE program at SCET.

Selection is made based on TNEA merit list rank and counselling.

Salem College of Engineering and Technology ME/M Tech Admission
ME qualification at SCET is available in two disciplines: Computer Science Engineering and Thermal Engineering. The annual intake of students for this postgraduate course is 100, including both branches.

  • BE graduates who have secured more than 50% marks can seek admission to ME at SCET.
  • In addition to this, they must also clear the state-level entrance exam that is TANCET. Anna University will conduct the TANCET.
  • Therefore, students are supposed to register themselves for the entrance exam of TANCET and perform well as equivalent to the minimum cut-off criteria set by SCET.

Admission to the BE and ME programs will be made according to the guidelines specified by Anna University. At first, students have to register themselves online for the respective entrance exams or counselling by logging into the official website. (TNEA or TANCET)
TNEA application process:-

  • Visit the official website of the college of TNEA/Anna University.
  • Go on the homepage of the website and click on apply now link
  • Register by entering the required details, and once the registration process is done, you will receive the login credentials.
  • Using those login credentials, fill in the TNEA application form. Enter all the required details correctly in the state.
  • Make the payment of TNEA application fees online, and the application fees cost is approx. 500/-
