National Institute of Foundry & Forge Technology (NIFFT), Ranchi was started in 1966 as a central Institute for offering Foundry and Forge education with high importance. The institute has been offering programs at Under Graduate, Post Graduate, Advanced Diploma and also Research level such as B.Tech, M.Tech, Advanced Diploma and Ph.D. with specializations in each program.

  • The students will have to fill application form for desired program and submit it in offline mode.
  • Students must hold bachelor’s degree in applicable discipline for applying to M.Tech and Advanced Diploma.
  • Master Degree in applicable discipline is mandatory for Ph.D. program admissions.
  • Seats are allotted for students in B.Tech program through CSAB, centralized counseling along with performance in JEE Main exam.
  • M.Tech program admission is based on GATE exam score followed by a centralized counseling.
  • Advanced Diploma course admissions will be based on Institute’s written test followed by an interview.

NIFFT, Ranchi B.Tech Admissions:

B.Tech program is offered by the Institute with two specializations for a period of eight semesters that is four years. The students must have 75% marks in 10+2 level with 75% marks from a well-recognized board. The students will be selected for admissions on the basis of 60% importance to JEE Main score and 40% important to 10+2 exam score. The seats will be allotted for B.Tech program by CSAB through a centralized counseling. The students will have to register for CSAB before 4th Week of July along with application fee of INR 1000/-

NIFFT, Ranchi M.Tech Admissions:

Four specializations are offered by the Institute in M.Tech program for four semester’s time that is for two years. The basic eligibility required as per the rules to apply for M.Tech program is Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in applicable specializations from well-recognized university. The selection process for M.Tech program admission will be based on GATE score as well as qualifying exam merit.

NIFFT, Ranchi Advanced Diploma Course Admissions:

The Institute is offering Advanced Diploma Course with two specializations for the students to opt from. The basic eligibility of Diploma in Mechanical or Metallurgical or Production Engineering or B.Sc. Degree in PCM with 50% marks from recognized university. The selection process for the programs will be based on written test and interview held by the Institute.

NIFFT, Ranchi Application Process

The application form can be downloaded from NIFFT website for applying to any program provided by the Institute. The students will have to pay INR 1000/- towards application fee through Demand Draft.

NIFFT, Ranchi Scholarship:

The Institute will be helping the Students who got shortlisted for Advanced Diploma Course with INR 25000/- per month as Scholarship.

Hi KR Varun,
The admission process:

  • Since you have done diploma in mechatronics,you can take choose this course for further studies.
  • Admission is based on the Written Test conducted by the NIFFT, Ranchi.
  • The candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination (Diploma in Metallurgical/Mechanical/Production Engineering/B.Sc.degree with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). 
  • Relaxed criteria of 45% marks will be applicable to candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
  • The total fee will cost around INR 27650 , duration of 1year 6months.

The fee structure for B.E programme

  • Around INR 1.72lakhs for the complete course.
  • Candidate must be have passed 10+2/ Intermediate or equivalent qualifying examination from a recognized State/ Central Board
  • Admission to B.Tech is given through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB),a centralized counselling procedure and based on their performance in JEE Main.

  • Aspirants much have completed Diploma in Automobile/Metallurgical/Mechanical/ Production/ Manufacturing Engineering/ B.Sc. degree with physics, chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Aspirants should have a minimum of 50% aggregate in the above mentioned courses. 
  • Interested candidates can apply online/offline with required information.
  • Admissions will be made on the basis of merit through marks obtained in diploma.
