National Fire Service College was set up in 1956 is one of its kind institutes all over the country. It is an autonomous body that is managed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The location of the Institute is in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

The degree offered by NSFC Nagpur is Bachelors of Engineering in fire engineering and Sub-Officer Course, respectively. The application form is available at the official website of the college. Candidate can fill the form online or can download from the official website.

The minimum eligibility to give the exam is 10th and 12th examination with English, Physics, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one subject in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or any of the Opted Vocational subjects.  The bare minimum mark for the candidates in the 10+2 examination is 45%. Thus, in both secondary and senior secondary exams, the candidate must have scored at least 45% overall. Selection of candidates to B.E. is made based on JEE Main (Paper 1), followed by Counseling conducted by RTM Nagpur University.

Candidates with graduate or diploma holders in Engineering/ Technology can apply for the Sub- Officers course. For Sub Officers Course, admission will be made through the All India Entrance Exam (AIEE) conducted by the Institute. After qualifying the first round of both the courses, shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the Medical and Physical Standard Test for Final Selection. 

NFSC Nagpur B.E Admission

The total intake annually is 60 students for the UG program. A four-year Bachelor’s of engineering degree (B.E.) with specialization in Fire Engineering is offered by NFSC. . Eligibility criteria and admission procedure will be decided by RTM Nagpur University. Applicants must have a pass in class 12th with English, Physics, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of them: Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or any of the Opted Vocational subjects. Aggregate marks secured in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational should not be less than 45% for general category candidates. Minimum qualifying marks are relaxed up to 5% for SC/ ST candidates.

A valid score in JEE Main, conducted by CBSE, is a must-have for candidates seeking admissions to the course. After the display of the merit list on the university’s website, the candidate will have to appear for the medical test. The final merit list will be displayed after considering the candidate’s medical examination and JEE Mains rank. 

Key Points: 

Only candidates with Indian Nationality are eligible for admission.  

Notification uploaded on the college website in case any seats are vacant after university-level Counselling.  

Candidates who have passed the qualifying exam from outside India must appear for JEE Main and obtain an eligibility certificate from the university

NFSC Nagpur Sub Officers Course Admission

NFSC offers Sub Officers Course for fire training is for candidates who have completed a graduation degree or diploma program in Engineering. The total intake annually is 30 students. An All India Entrance Exam is conducted for Sub Officers Post by the Institute itself. The eligible candidates can apply through forms available at the portal. They must submit a print of the same along with documents at the college. 

Candidates should submit the hard copies of the application form by September 30. The candidates who are found eligible will be receiving admit cards for the entrance test. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of written examinations will be further called for a medical test round. A list of finally selected candidates will be uploaded to the college portal. 

Key Points

1) Document verification will be conducted on November 28 (tentatively) at 10:30 hours at the college campus only. 

2) Centres for entrance tests will be Delhi, Nagpur, Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai. 

3) Applicants must be between the age of 18 and 25 years as of January 01. 

4) Upper age limit is relaxed up to 5 years for SC/ ST and three years for OBC candidates. 

Physical & Medical Standards Requirement (for all courses): 

1) Height: 165 cm (for male) and 157cm (for female)  

2) Chest (expanded):86cm (only for male)  

3) Chest (unexpanded):81cm (only for male)  

4) Weight: 50kg (for male) and 47kg (for female) 

Note: 

In the case of a male, height is relaxed up to 5 cms for Assamese Ghorkas, Gharwalls, and members of Scheduled Castes and 2.5 cms for females. 

Medical Standards

Eyesight (better eye without aid): 6/6 

Vision (worse eye): 6/12 

Colour Visions: no colour blindness 

Knock knee, flat feet, squinting eyes, and stammering not allowed.

The minimum eligibility criteria for the B-Tech program at NFSC will be based on 10+2 board exams with PCM subjects mandatory. The selections will be based on JEE Main scores.
