Eligibility Criteria/Cut-off for Admissions 2020

Indian Institute of Engineering Science and technology was started in the year 1856 with a former names as Calcutta Civil Engineering College, Bengal Engineering College, Government Engineering College (Howrah), Bengal Engineering and Science University. IIEST is a public University that is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by Govt. if India under MHRD along with NITs and IITs.

The University provides Courses such as B.Tech, B.Arch., M.Sc., M.Tech, MTRP, MBA and Integrated Dual Degree in engineering. The candidates need to have 10+2 education level for getting admission to UG level programs and Bachelor level education for admission to PG level programs.

I would like to say admission fee in my college is reliable to pay and also education wise it is good for pursuing Architecture in this college. Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology admissions for B Arch course are usually offered on the basis of NATA entrance exam score or JEE Main Entrance Exam score (Paper 2).Actually I gave NATA based on the score I got seat allotment in this college. The Mode of application is online. IIEST Hostel fee is very much low and also facilities are good and the fee charges around INR 8,000.Overall I can recommend this college to anyone

Once the JEE main entrance test is over we get results and we must actually appear for the JOSAA counselling. IIT, Shibpur cut-off marks for the CS/IT branch is the most highest and the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology admission is possible only through JOSAA counselling and no other way.

I applied for JEE Main entrance exam for which the application starts from the month of December when the results were declared I was scared if I could get B.Tech seat is Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology then based on the score obtained in the exam IIEST admissions to B.Tech were given. It is compulsory to apply for counselling and on basis of counselling we will be selected for further process where vacancies in the college and number of applications will matter. Seats will differ for every course and program students are advised to apply as soon as the admission forms are released to get advanced with the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology admissions.

Admission to B.Tech at Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology are based on merit in the candidates as per JEE Main results and minimum aggregate of 60% is required in class 12th from science stream. JEE Main cut-off for B.Tech in computer science engineering is 4978 – 9379.

At Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology JEE Main cut-off for computer science and engineering will range from 4978-9379. So the cut-off would differ every year based on certain norms.

Sir My son A Bhargav Manohar who had been allotted a engineering seat in the B Tech metallurgy course through josaa and partial admission in iiest shibpur Bengal Engineering college and opted for Csab counselling for better branch like mechanical engineering , but Unfortunately due to ignorence he freezed the 5 yrs int physics msc course at nit rourkela which he never wanted because he would like to have engineering degree so he is fully depressed so please help him is there any chance to retain the lost seat

B.Tech course admission in Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology is offered based on the marks secured in JEE Main. Nearly nine B.Tech streams are offered in the institute. Minimum score required for taking B.Tech programme admission is 45%, for reserved category students it is 40%.

Hi,

B.Tech degree program at Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology:

  • Candidates can join this institute for B.Tech program after completion of 12th class from a recognized board.
  • The admission for the course will be only on the basis of counseling of the JEE Main score of the candidate.
  • The cutoff for the course at this institute differs from one year to another. The previous year JEE Main cutoff is around 7585.

The admission procedure for B.Tech Courses is :-

  • Admission is mainly based on the valid score obtained in JEE mains examination
  • Eligibility criteria is that aspirant must have passed 10+2 examination with minimum 45% aggregate marks for general category and 40% aggragate marks for reserved category taken PCM subjects together.

Eligibility criteria for B.Tech at Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology:

  • A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 is a must for admission. 
  • Candidate should obtain a valid score in JEE Mains entrance examination.
  • Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology does not accept direct admission.

The Eligibility and the selection Procedure for the course B.TECH in Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology is:

The Eligibility Criteria:

  • The aspirant has secured minimum 75% (for GEN or OBC-NCL) or a minimum 65 %
  • And for the SC, ST or PwD of aggregate marks in the Class XII
  • For IIEST the 50% of the seats are reserved for candidates outside West Bengal 
  • And the min of 50% is reserved for students domiciled in West Bengal.

Selection Procedure:

  • For each eligible candidate shall be required to appear and to qualify at a written test
  • The entrance exam required is (JEE Main 2017) conducted by the CBSE

For SC/ST and others:

  • The Reservations for the students of SC/ST/PwD/OBC/Other categories will be as per the Government rules.

Yes, the college offers dual specializations that is B.TECH+M.TECH

  • The selection for an integrated B.Tech program is done through JoSAA Counseling.
  • The choices are generally made in July after which seat allotments are done based on student’s AIR (All India Rank)
  • And the rank lists for JEE Mains is prepared by taking 60% of JEE Main score and 40% of Higher Secondary Examination marks.
