Deogiri Institute of Engineering and Management Studies is a co-educational private institute located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. It is affiliated with Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere. The admission criteria conform with the standards laid down by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra. The mode of entrance is now online, as per COVID-19 regulations. Students must first apply for the programme of their choice on their official website, followed by submitting documents to prove their eligibility. Finally, they are awarded merit based on their CET score, which allows them to participate in the counselling process and be granted admission.

B. Tech

Deogiri Institute of Engineering and Management Studies offers Bachelor in Technology with specializations in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering; the admission and selection criteria remaining uniform.

Candidates should have a 10+2 qualification with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as primary subjects to be deemed eligible to apply for Engineering courses at DIEMS. Further, the candidate needs to hold a minimum qualifying score of either JEE or MHT-CET exam, followed by DTE counselling to be granted admission to the B. Tech Programme.

Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test— MHT-CET is a state-level entrance test that admits students to undergraduate engineering, pharmacy, and agriculture programmes in Maharashtra colleges. It has three papers: Paper 1 is based on Mathematics, Paper 2 on Physics and Chemistry, and Paper 3 on Biology. The questions follow the MCQ format, and students get 90 minutes for each paper. There is no negative marking.

B. Tech Lateral

B. Tech Lateral is a 3-year undergraduate program of three years offered at DIEMS. Specializations offered in this course are Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics & Telecom Engineering.

The minimum eligibility of candidates who can apply for admission is either a three-year diploma or a bachelor's degree in engineering. Further, they should hold a valid JEE MAIN or MH-CET score to be considered for admission.

Direct Second-Year Engineering (DSE)

DIEMS offers a Direct Second-Year Engineering Programme. Candidates are directly admitted to the second year of the B. Tech program.

To be deemed eligible to apply for the programme, candidates should have a background of 10+2 with Mathematics as one of the main subjects and should either:

  • Have qualified a diploma course in Engineering and Technology in an appropriate branch of engineering and technology from an institution recognized by All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government or its equivalent with at least 45% marks. (And, 40% in case of students belonging to Backward class categories and PWD from Maharashtra State)
  • 40% in case of candidates belonging to Backward categories and PWD belonging to Maharashtra State

If they meet the minimum eligibility criteria, they need to participate in the Centralized Admission Process— CAP, conducted by the State Common Entrance Cell, Government of Maharashtra. This process generates a merit list based on the candidate's performance in the Diploma course or the respective qualifying degree exam. They should then appear for the CAP counselling. Registration for both the CAP process and the CAP counselling takes place online.

M. Tech

DIEMS offers Masters in Technology with specializations in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering (Computer Aided Structural Engineering); and Computer Science and Engineering. The admission criteria are the same for all streams.

The minimum eligibility for the candidates is a degree in B. Tech or BE in the relevant specialization with a minimum of 50% in the aggregate. This minimum aggregate percentage differs for students from Maharashtra or other backwards class categories who belong to EWS, PWD, EWS/PWD. Further, the selection is done based on CET or GATE score followed by counselling. Candidates with GATE scores are given preference in the final admission process.

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an all-India test that not only grants admission in postgraduate courses of the science of engineering field but is also used by multiple PSUs to recruit candidates for prestigious positions. It is held online, and the scorecard remains valid for three years after the declaration of the result. It has 65 questions of MCQ, MSQ and NAT type distributed over three main sections.

MBA

Master's in Business Administration offered at DIEMS is a 2-year postgraduate programme. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline of minimum three-year duration awarded by any universities recognized by the University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent. This minimum aggregate percentage differs for students from Maharashtra or other backwards class categories who belong to EWS, PWD, EWS/PWD. Further, they should hold a valid non-zero score in MAH-MBA/MMS-CET, GMAT, CAT, MAT, ATMA, XAT or CMAT. In addition, candidates belonging to Maharashtra need to qualify MAH-MBA-CET/MMS-CET examination.

MAH-MBA-CET is a state level examination that grants admission for MBA courses in various colleges located in Maharashtra. The exam is conducted online and has an MCQ format of 200 questions distributed in 3 significant sections. There is no negative marking.

Subsequently, the students have to participate in the CAP process conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra, after which they are granted final admission.
