BGS Institute of Technology is one of the well-known engineering institutes in Mandya, Karnataka, that is accredited by NAAC with an A grade and affiliated with VTU. The flagship program of BGSIT is B-Tech in UG level. The course is available in 6 different specializations and the most commonly opted stream is CSE. Step 1: Check the eligibility criteria:
Knowing the minimum eligibility criteria before applying for admission will help the applicants to have easy admission process. For the UG program, it is necessary to have completed 10th and 12th board exams from recognized. For PG courses, they must have completed their graduation degree in a relevant stream with min of 50% marks.
Step 2: Appear of entrance exam:
The majority of the admissions in BGSIT are provided based on academic merit and entrance exam scores. For B-Tech, admissions are based on KCET scores. In case of M-Tech and MBA courses, admissions are based on GATE, KPGCET or KMAT. It is suggested for the applicants to prepare for the exam beforehand and then register for the exam by the given timeline.
Step 3: Counselling process registration
After taking the entrance exam, students must wait for the results. Once the results are out, qualified students register for the concerned counselling process. Based on the counselling results, seat allocations will be done.
Step 4: Choice filling and seat allocation:
In the counselling process, applicants must fill out the choice form and mention BGS Institute of Technology as their preferred college for B-Tech program. Seat allocations shall depend on the entrance exam rank, preference, category norms, seat matrix and more.
Step 5: Documents Verification
The shortlisted candidates must then appear for the document verification step that happens offline. Once the concerned authorities verify the documents confirmation mail or letter will be sent to the candidates.
Step 6: Payment of Fees and Admission Confirmation
After the confirmation letter is accepted by the students, they can further report to the college, finish the joining formalities and then pay the course fees.
KCET 2026 registrations are open till February 17, 2026. Students are expected to register before that and then appear for the exam. The KCET 2026 exam will be held on April 23 and 24. Results are expected to be out by May 24, 2026.
Once the results are out, Students must then register for KCET counselling conducted by KEA. Based on the counselling results, college preferences, availability of seats, and applicant category seat allocations will be done. In the previous year, BGS Institute of Technology KCET cut-off ranges from 48897-163338.
In case the applicants are appearing for COMED K, then they must send in their applications by March 16, 2026. The exam is scheduled to be held on May 09, 2026. Qualified students from the exam must then register for COMED K UGET counselling 2026. Seat allocation will be done in 3 rounds. Based on the acceptance of seat allocation, applicants can join the B-Tech program in BGSIT.
Being a private institute, BGSIT offers a certain percentage of direct admissions as well. Students who have appeared for the entrance exam but haven’t secured an eligible cut-off can appear for direct or management quota seats. However, candidates must be considerate about the fact that, under the management quota, the course fees will be higher than the general fees.
