BGS Institute of Technology is one of the well-known engineering institutes in Mandya, Karnataka, that is accredited by NAAC with an A grade and affiliated with VTU. The flagship program of BGSIT is B-Tech in UG level. The course is available in 6 different specializations and the most commonly opted stream is CSE. The total intake for the BGS institute technology B-Tech course is 30-240. Amongst which 60% seats will be given for the CSE stream, and the remaining 40% seats will be covered by other specializations for the academic year 2026.

BGS Institute of Technology course admissions are based on academic merit in the specified qualification, followed by entrance exam scores. The accepted entrance exam in BGSIT is KCET/ KPGCET/ GATE/ KMAT.

Undergraduate courses

• B-Tech: It is one of the most commonly opted UG programs by B-Tech aspirants. B-Tech or B.E is a 4 years program (8 semesters). Students must choose their interested stream to pursue the degree. The available specializations are: CSE, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, AI and ML. BGS Institute of Technology B-Tech fees ranges from 2.8 lakhs to 6.8 lakhs for the entire program based on the type of specialization.

Postgraduate courses

• M-Tech: In postgrad level, the M-Tech course can be joined by engineering students. M-Tech course duration is for 2 years. The specializations available in M-Tech are Computer Science and Engineering, Structural Engineering, VLSI Design & Embedded Systems, and Infrastructural Engineering. BGSIT M-Tech fees are INR 1.6 lakhs.
• MBA: In the management stream, MBA is a popular course at the PG level. It is a 2-year program, and it is available in the General management stream. BGS institute of Technology MBA fees is INR 2.2 lakhs for the entire program.

B.G.S Institute of Technology Admission Process

Interested applicants for BGS Institute of Technology admissions must follow the steps below for a smooth process.

Step 1: Check the eligibility criteria:

Knowing the minimum eligibility criteria before applying for admission will help the applicants to have easy admission process. For the UG program, it is necessary to have completed 10th and 12th board exams from recognized. For PG courses, they must have completed their graduation degree in a relevant stream with min of 50% marks.  

Step 2: Appear of entrance exam:

The majority of the admissions in BGSIT are provided based on academic merit and entrance exam scores. For B-Tech, admissions are based on KCET scores. In case of M-Tech and MBA courses, admissions are based on GATE, KPGCET or KMAT. It is suggested for the applicants to prepare for the exam beforehand and then register for the exam by the given timeline.

Step 3: Counselling process registration

After taking the entrance exam, students must wait for the results. Once the results are out, qualified students register for the concerned counselling process. Based on the counselling results, seat allocations will be done.

Step 4: Choice filling and seat allocation:

In the counselling process, applicants must fill out the choice form and mention BGS Institute of Technology as their preferred college for B-Tech program. Seat allocations shall depend on the entrance exam rank, preference, category norms, seat matrix and more.

Step 5: Documents Verification

The shortlisted candidates must then appear for the document verification step that happens offline. Once the concerned authorities verify the documents confirmation mail or letter will be sent to the candidates.

Step 6: Payment of Fees and Admission Confirmation

After the confirmation letter is accepted by the students, they can further report to the college, finish the joining formalities and then pay the course fees.

B.G.S Institute of Technology B-Tech admission through KCET

KCET 2026 registrations are open till February 17, 2026. Students are expected to register before that and then appear for the exam. The KCET 2026 exam will be held on April 23 and 24. Results are expected to be out by May 24, 2026.

Once the results are out, Students must then register for KCET counselling conducted by KEA. Based on the counselling results, college preferences, availability of seats, and applicant category seat allocations will be done. In the previous year, BGS Institute of Technology KCET cut-off ranges from 48897-163338.  

B.G.S Institute of Technology B-Tech admission through COMED K

In case the applicants are appearing for COMED K, then they must send in their applications by March 16, 2026. The exam is scheduled to be held on May 09, 2026. Qualified students from the exam must then register for COMED K UGET counselling 2026. Seat allocation will be done in 3 rounds. Based on the acceptance of seat allocation, applicants can join the B-Tech program in BGSIT.  

B.G.S Institute of Technology B-Tech admission through management quota

Being a private institute, BGSIT offers a certain percentage of direct admissions as well. Students who have appeared for the entrance exam but haven’t secured an eligible cut-off can appear for direct or management quota seats. However, candidates must be considerate about the fact that, under the management quota, the course fees will be higher than the general fees. It is essential for the students to have met the basic educational and other criteria’s to apply for admissions.

Eligibility for B-Tech:

• The minimum educational qualification for B-Tech program is to have passed the 10+2 board exams in the science stream with an average of 50% of marks in the main core subjects like PCM as mandatory.
• As selection criteria, the college considers KCET entrance exam scores for admission under the state quota.
• The minimum age for B-Tech program is 17 years.

Eligibility for M-Tech:

• To qualify for the M-Tech program, students must have completed their graduation in B-Tech from recognized University with min of 50% marks. Without any backlogs.
• The minimum age to apply for M-Tech is 21 years.
• Selections for BGSIT admissions are based on GATE or KPGCET scores and counselling results.

Eligibility for MBA:

• As a management PG program, MBA is eligible for those who have completed their UG degree in any stream with min of 50% marks in recognized University without any backlogs.
• The minimum age limit to appear for the MBA course is 21 years.
• MBA selections are based on KPGCET or KMAT scores at the state level.
