Amala Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) is a private medical college situated in Thrissur, Kerala. It was founded in 2002. It is affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) with the approval of the National Medical Commission (NMC). The hospital connected to the college, Amala Hospital, is a 1,000+ bed multi-specialty teaching hospital, where the students get hands-on clinical training in different medical fields. AIMS is one of the pioneering self-financing medical colleges in Kerala. Besides, the institution has been awarded an A+ Grade under the KUHS Quality Assurance System.

The college offers MBBS as the main course at the UG level, and also offers MD, MS, DM, M.Ch., and as postgraduate and super-specialty programs. The entrance criterion for MBBS is through NEET UG and admission is conducted through the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala. To get a seat for MD and MS, one has to appear in the NEET PG exam, while for DM and M.Ch. admissions are made through NEET SS. Other than medical courses, the college campus is also equipped to offer B.Sc. Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, and paramedical courses. Annually, Amala Medical College takes 100 students for MBBS and is still a top choice among private medical colleges in Kerala.

Amala Institute of Medical Sciences MBBS Admission 2026

Each year, AIMS provides 100 MBBS seats. The mode of admission is strictly on the basis of NEET UG results and this is followed by Kerala State Medical Counselling done by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala. The seats are divided under State Merit, Management, and NRI quotas according to the admission policy of the Government of Kerala. Due to its academic excellence and state-of-art hospital facilities, Amala continues to be one of the most sought-after self-financing medical colleges in Kerala.

Eligibility – MBBS

  • Candidate should have cleared Class 12 from a recognized board.
  • Candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
  • General category candidates must secure at least 50% marks in PCB.
  • Reserved category candidates must secure at least 40% PCB marks.
  • Candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31 December 2026.
  • Candidate must have a valid NEET UG 2026 score.

AIMS is a centre for postgraduate medical education in more than 20 disciplines, both clinical and non-clinical. Admission is decided by NEET PG scores followed by Kerala PG Medical Counselling held by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala. Documents Required For Admission At Amala Institute Of Medical Sciences 2026

  • The main document for admission is NEET UG / NEET PG score.
  • NEET admit card at the time of verification.
  • Class 10 mark sheet and certificate are a must.
  • Class 12 mark sheet and certificate are also required.
  • MBBS degree certificate is must to get PG admissions
