SPM was established in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, in 2006 by Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute. The Trust and Society establish it by Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation. SPM got its recognition from AICTE, New Delhi, and University Grant Commissions. SPM has been ranked 75th in NIRF B-Schools ranking, out of 650 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and recognized in Top-40 in India CSR-GHRDC.

  • SPM offers MBA degrees under two different programs in the field of management studies.
  • Students willing to take admission in the MBA course at SPM must undertake the entrance exam CAT or XAT. In addition, shortlisted candidates must go through another round of personal interviews, group discussions, and written ability tests.
  • The final evaluation will be done on cumulative marks of the entrance exam, GD & PI performance, WAT score, academic qualification, and work experience.

School of Petroleum Management MBA admission:

SPM offers a full-time MBA course in the field of management studies. The duration of the course is two years and four semesters. In addition, SPM provides two programs under management courses. The total number of seats would be 120.

  • Candidates aspiring to take admission in an MBA course at SPM have to go through an entrance exam, CAT, or XAT.
  • Further, candidates would be shortlisted based on the entrance exam course and called for another evaluation round.
  • The second round would consist of a Personal Interview, Group Discussion, and Written Ability Test.
  • To be eligible to apply for the MBA program at SPM, candidates must have a Bachelors's degree from any recognized university with 50% marks in aggregation. 45% for candidates from the reserved category.
  • The final evaluation of candidates would be based on cumulative marks of entrance exam, PI & GD performance, WAT score, Academic qualification, and work experience.

The weightage given to each aspect is as follows:

60% of weightage would be given to the entrance exam. Group discussion will hold 10% of the total weightage. Another 10% weightage will be given to personal interview, 05% weightage would be for Written Ability Test, 10% for work experience and rest 5% would be for academic performance.

  • For admission in MBA programs, SPM offers an online mode of application.
  • Candidates have to visit the official site of SPM and register themselves as new candidates.
  • The second step would be filling in all the details in the application form and uploading all the required documents.
  • Once candidates fill-up the form they can submit it by paying the application fee via various payment modes.
