North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology Admission

North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST) is one of the prime Educational Institutes incepted in 1984 in Arunachal Pradesh and is currently having Deemed University status. The Institute has been offering programs at UG, PG & Research level such as B.Tech, B.Sc., MBA, M.Tech, and Ph.D. in several specializations.

Five specializations are offered under the UG level, and eight fields are offered under the PG level.

• The Institute allocates seats based on Students’ performance in written test or entrance exam and personal interview round.

NERIST B.Tech Admissions:

The Students with basic eligibility of 10+2 or equivalent in Science stream with 45% marks in PCM subjects from the well-recognized board are offered six specializations in the B.Tech program for four years of duration. The students will be selected for admission based on the NEE entrance exam conducted by the Institute. The students should provide all the necessary documents to verify the B.Tech program's final entries.

NERIST B.Sc. Admissions:

The Institute is offering a B.Sc. program with one specialization: Forestry, for three years of duration. The students must have basic eligibility of 10+2 or equivalent in the Science stream with 45% marks in PCM subjects from a well-recognized board to apply for the B.Sc. program. The B.Sc. program's selection process depends on the marks obtained in the NEE exam conducted by the Institute.

The students seeking admission into the NERIST will have to download the application form from the Institute’s website or obtain the application form through post or even in person by visiting the Institute. The Application fee of INR 1050/- has to be paid through DD.

• Students must compulsorily have a 10+2 level in PCM subjects for applying to B.Tech or B.Sc.
• Reservation and relaxation are provided as per the Government regulations.
• The minimum age for applying to the UG programs is 17 years.
• Selection for the UG program is based on NEE exam merit.

NERIST M.Tech Admissions:

The Institute has been providing an M.Tech program with six specializations for two years. The students will be selected for admission based on a written test held by the Institute. The basic eligibility required for applying to the program is a bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology in applicable discipline with 50% marks from a well-recognized university. The students shortlisted for the M.Tech admissions will have to produce the verification documents.

NERIST M.Sc. Admission:

The Institute offers an M.Sc. program with four specializations for two years of duration. The students must meet the essential eligibility criteria of a bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline with 55% marks from well-recognized universities to apply for the M.Sc. program. The students will be selected for admissions based on Academic merit, followed by a performance in the institute's written test and a Personal interview.

NERIST MBA Admissions:

The Institute is offering a Management program at the PG level other than just an engineering program for a duration of two years. The students must have basic eligibility of bachelor’s degree in the applicable stream with 50% marks from a well-recognized university. The MBA program's selection procedure will be based on academic merit followed by MAT or CAT exam score.

The students seeking admission into the Institute for PG program will have to satisfy the essential eligibility criteria. The application form for each program will be available on the Institute’s website, which can be downloaded or can even get through a post or in person by visiting the Institute premises. The application fee of INR 1050/- has to be paid through a DD. 

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable discipline is mandatory for admission to PG programs.
• Students opting for M.Sc. in forestry must have B.Sc. in forestry with at least 60% marks.
• Other M.Sc. degree requires regular B.Sc. with 55% marks.
• MBA admission will be based on CAT or MAT exam scores.
• The Institute for admission to M.Sc. and M.Tech program will hold a written test and personal interview round.

NERIST Application Process:

The students can download the application form from the Institute’s website or get it by visiting the Institute’s office or through a post. Application Fee of INR 1050/- has to be paid through a DD favoring ‘Director, NERIST,’ which has to be payable at SBI, Nirjuli. The Application fee of INR 1000/- has to be paid if getting the application form from the Institute directly by visiting the admission office.
