IIST B Tech Eligibility Criteria/Selection Criteria
- For securing B Tech admission in IIST, Candidates must have passed their Qualifying Examination (10+2 or Equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and have at least a 45 per cent aggregate in PCM subjects.
- Those who fall into the SC/ST/PD categories must score a least 40% on the qualifying exam.
- The candidates will be admitted based on their JEE main rank. Interested applicants can apply for the JEE main examination on the NTA website.
- B Tech selection Criteria at IIST depends on JEE Main Rank and 10+2 academic score followed by online counselling.
- Candidates who pass JEE Main must apply for centralized counselling, which DTE Madhya Pradesh conducts. Through counselling, final seat allotment takes place.
- During counselling time, candidates must choose their preference as IIST and fill in the option entry form.
- If candidates' merit rank is equivalent to the IIST B Tech cut off norms, they will be eligible to secure an admission seat.
- After the DTE MP Counselling concludes, the college authority will invite applications for the vacant seats.
- Interested candidates can seek admission under the Management quota at IIST. The admission will be granted based on academic merit.
- IIST B Tech application forms will be available at the college's main website. Direct admission seekers can fill the online form by paying stipulated IIST B Tech application fees.

IIST Mtech Eligibility/Selection Criteria
- Students who are interested in pursuing M.Tech at IIST must hold a B.E./B.Tech. Degree in the relevant discipline.
- They shall have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks at the UG level. (5% relaxation applicable for SC/ST Category)
- Admission to the M Tech program at IIST will be done through the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering). It is a national level entrance test conducted by IITs
- Non-GATE students can apply for admission based on their previous qualifying exam scores.
- For government seats, candidates are required to undergo DTE MP online counselling. A separate merit list will be prepared for GATE and Non-GATE Qualifiers.
- The primary preference will be given for the students who have cleared GATE with a valid score during the seat allocation process.
IIST Application Process

- However, students applying for the government seats must register themselves online for DTE, MP Counselling.
