Indian Institute of Forest Management is shortly known as IIFM and is known to be one of India's premier colleges. Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) was founded in 1982 and was established under the Ministry of Forestry. Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) offers a Post-graduation degree program in forest management.

The candidates' selection will be made based on the CAT/XAT exam marks. Indian Institute of Forest Management application forms are available online through the official website, or forms can also be purchased from the college campus in person.

Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) offers PGDFM courses for which the admissions will be made based on merit in the Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 50% aggregate. The reservation criteria are as per the rules of the Indian Government.

Indian Institute of Forest Management PGDFM Admissions Process:

Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) offers Post Graduation Diploma in Forest Management. Admission to PGDFM will be done based on the candidates' score in XAT or CAT and will have to appear for the counseling process to verify documents. The candidates will confirm the admissions only after the payment of the fee and document verification in the counseling process.

PGDFM Selection Process:

PGDFM admissions in Indian Institute of Forest Management the CAT and XAT score will be considered the main test conducted for management studies. Candidates will have to appear for either of these exams mandatorily.

The shortlisted candidates will have to go through the indigenous admissions process with group discussion, personal interview, and Micro presentation.

Basic Eligibility: Graduation degree passed with minimum 50% aggregate and should have qualified XAT or CAT securing minimum cut-off marks.

The final Selection of candidates will be made according to their performance in written test, personal interview, and group discussions conducted by the institute.

Indian Institute of Forest Management offers 5% relaxation to the candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Indian Institute of Forest Management PGDFM Application Process:

  • Candidates who wish to take admission in PGDFM may have to apply via the official website or purchase it on the college campus.
  • Candidates wishing to take admission will have to apply for CAT or XAT exam through their respective official website, which the admissions for PGDFM admissions will be made.
  • IIFM application process will be carried out online. Candidates will have to follow these steps after applying for CAT or XAT exam.
  • Visit the IIFM official website and click on the “Admission” link.
  • The application form should be duly filled and submitted by paying the application fee of INR 1000 through net banking, credit, or debit card.
  • The application fee can also be paid through a Demand Draft of INR 1000.

I joined for post graduate diploma course in forestry management at Indian Institute of Forest Management, which was a two year master degree course. The PG diploma course in forest management is offered at this institute with the course fee of around INR 624000/- for the complete 2 years course. The admission criteria for the course at this institute is around completion of graduation from a recognized university in any discipline. The institute accepts both CAT and XAT entrance examination score to provide admission at this institute. The CAT cutoff for the course is around 94 for general category, 89 for OBC category and 80 for SC category candidates.

Because Indian Institute of Forest Management is a public institute there is no management quota or direct admissions given. Candidates based on entrance exam score could seek Indian Institute of Forest Management admissions.


What is IIFM PGDM fee

Indian Institute of Forest Management fee of PGDM in general as a whole for 2 years is around INR 6.24 lakhs and the fee can be split and cleared in instalment.

Candidates should be eligible in the first like a graduation degree from any stream and by considering valid score of entrance exam counselling will be held followed by WAT and PI based selection of the candidate takes place. Also selected candidates can fill the Indian Institute of Forest Management admission form either offline or online further admissions will be granted.

Hi Sakshi Kumar,
Admission process for PGDFM programme:-

  • Aspirant must have at least a 3year bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline with 50% marks aggregate (45% for SC/ST/DA (PWD) or equivqlent CGPA.
  • IIFM provides high quality education at reasonable cost.
  • The total fee is INR 4.80 lakhs for General/NC-OBC/DA  
  • For SC/ST candidates it will be INR 2.88 lakhs including hostel fee.

Admission for MBA at Indian Institute of Forest Management:

  • Candidate must have completed graduation with minimum 50% aggregate.
  • Candidate must have a valid score in XAT/CAT entrance examination. 
  • Candidate can apply online/offline with the required details.
  • Admission will be done on the basis of academic credentials, entrance exam and also performance in personal interview.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for the personal interview based on marks obtained in graduation and entrance exam.
  • Selection will be done based on the marks obtained in the previous examination followed by Personal Interview.

Few cutoff for PG Program:

  • PGDFM for the General category is 80
  • PGDFM for the Schedule Caste is 50
  • PGDFM for the Schedule Tribe is 45
  • PGDFM for the Other Backward Class is 60
  • PGDFM for the PWD is 60.
