Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics popularly known as GIPE, was started in the academic year of 1930 and is located in Pune, Maharashtra. The institution was approved by University grants commission (UGC) and is affiliated with AICTE. Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics is one of the oldest researches and training institutes of economics and has been accredited by NAAC with A+ grade.

• Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics offers under graduate, Post graduate and Doctoral courses under numerous specializations.
• At under graduate level Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics offers Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) in Economics; for admission into which candidate must have passed 10+2 in Science from a recognised board of education.
• Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics offers two years duration of M. Sc course under the specialization of Economics, Financial Economics and Agribusiness Economics.
• Eligibility for admission into M. Sc program is that, candidate must hold graduation degree with an average of 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) from a recognised board of education.
• In order to secure admission in M. Sc program, candidate must appear and qualify the GIPE M. Sc entrance examination.
• Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics offers Ph. D programmes under the domains of Economics and Politics. For admission into Ph. D course candidate must hold post-graduation degree in the field of Economics, Population Studies and Agriculture economics with an average of 55% marks from a reputed institution.
• Final selection for admission is done on the basis of candidate’s score in entrance examination followed by the personal interview conducted by the institution. If a candidate holds an M. Phil degree or if he/ she has qualified the UGC NET entrance examination will not have to appear for the entrance examination conducted by the institution.
• The mode of filling the application form for admission at GIPE is online, wherein the applicants can fill the application form through the institute’s website. The application fee is around INR 1750 (INR 875 for reserved category candidates) which can be paid online via credit/ debit card or net banking.
