MBA Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for admission to AIBM follow the UGC-specified norms. To be eligible for admission, candidates need to meet the following criteria:

 

Educational Qualification: Candidates should be graduates from any statutory and recognized university.

 

Minimum Marks: The minimum marks required at the graduation level are as follows:

  • General Category students: 50%
  • SC/ST/OBC/NT Category students: 45%

 

Valid Entrance Exam Scores: For the current academic year, valid scores from the following entrance exams will be accepted: CAT, CMAT, MAH CET,

 

Candidates Appearing for Final Year Examinations: Candidates in the final year of their bachelor's degree program and yet to complete their degree can also apply. However, their admission will be subject to meeting the minimum marks criteria mentioned in point 2 above.

 

Exclusion of Part-Time, Correspondence, External, or Distance Learning Graduates: Candidates who have completed their degree through part-time, correspondence, external courses, or distance learning or have completed their degree in a single sitting are not eligible for admission.

 

MBA Selection Procedure

The admission assessment criteria for MBA programs typically include the following components and weightage:

a) Entrance Exam Score: The score obtained in a recognized national-level entrance exam (such as CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, MAH CET, or ATMA) carries a weightage of 30%.

b) Group Discussion (GD): Performance in the group discussion is considered, contributing 25% to the overall assessment.

c) Personal Interview (PI): The personal interview is a critical component, and it also holds a weightage of 25% in the assessment process.

d) Past Academic Record: Your academic performance in your previous educational qualifications, such as undergraduate studies, contributes 15% to the overall assessment.

e) Work Experience: If you have work experience, it is also taken into account, with a weightage of 5%.

 

These weights are used to evaluate candidates for admission to MBA programs. Applicants are typically ranked based on their performance in each component, and the final admission decision is based on the cumulative score.

 

Note: Candidates with valid MAH CET scores can apply through the CAP Process. Under the institute quota, students willing to apply must have valid scores in standardized exams such as CAT, MAT, XAT or any equivalent.
