North Bengal Medical College (NBMC) is one of the premier government medical colleges in Eastern India. Established in the year 1968, it is situated in Sushrutanagar, Darjeeling district, West Bengal. It is affiliated with West Bengal University of Health Sciences and National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved it.
The institution is a major tertiary-care teaching hospital in North Bengal and serves the neighbouring areas like Sikkim, Bihar, Assam, and also parts of Nepal and Bhutan. Academically and clinically, North Bengal Medical College has been the flagship of Eastern India government medical colleges for a long time and still has a high reputation amongst them.
North Bengal Medical College is providing only one course at the undergraduate level which is MBBS and there are several MD/MS programs available at the postgraduate level. For MBBS admission, one has to qualify NEET UG and admission is done through MCC All India Quota and West Bengal state counselling by WBMCC.

The college is offering postdoctoral medical education with MD and MS degrees in various branches of medicine, paramedical, and non-medical disciplines. Based on NEET PG results, students are admitted to the college after counselling. North Bengal Medical College direct admission for MBBS course will be based on the score attained by the candidates in the NEET entrance examination. The perhaps the management quota admission at North Bengal Medical College will not be considered by the admission authorities. The institute provides both graduate and post graduate degree programs in medical domain. The North Bengal Medical College admission involves the eligibility criteria being a minimum of 50% in 10th and 12th and PCMB stream and a valid score in NEET entrance examination. How ever the minimum age criteria to apply for the MBBS course is around 17 years of age.
